I couldn't tell whether they were checking in at the front desk or at the machine next door. They were so busy coming and going that it was a bit confusing to follow the other guests. Also, the machine is in a public area, so it's always occupied. When placing your ID card in the machine's sensor, it's recommended to face the back of the card outwards to protect your privacy.
