This cosy cabin, approx 25 minutes from town, is exactly as pictured. While the surrounding 100 acres are secluded, the cabin isn't. The owner Gary lives in his home with his 3 friendly dogs, 6 or so metres away.Driving to the cabin is via 5.5km of smooth dirt n pot holed road. Before booking, if not in a 4WD, best to check with Gary if your car will be OK on this road. While the cabin is stocked with things like dishwashing powder, washing machine powder, a couple of rolls of toilet paper, a litre of UHT milk, hand sanitiser, salt/ pepper, a small bag of coffee beans, plenty of crockery and cutlery as well as two small saucepans, a skillet and two very worn, scratched teflon frying pans, if you are planning to make your meals there, you'll need to BYO anything else inc water. As a word of warning, ask Gary for what you need during the day, not the night, especially if it is more than one item. On the afternoon we arrived, Gary's last words to us were to call him if we needed anything. There was a couple of things. The wi fi password, a larger pot to make a stew in and a can opener. This was apparently too much to ask for so he decided to let us know via an angry rant when he delivered these items to us. We were told no one had ever asked for these things in 15 years. That he couldn't do everything. That we should have something else for dinner instead. That he should be charging more for the cabin. This was so undeserved and very disappointing.

Such a beautiful place to stay in nature, the location was exactly what we were after. The attention to detail in the cottage was amazing and Gary's welcome was so lovely. He also supplied firewood for our entire stay which was very generous!

Authentic Snowy River stay
A rustic, studio style cottage in the Jindabyne countryside, interesting decor and artwork. convenient to town. Every comfort, with good heating for cold weather. Bushy was helpful and friendly and we appreciated the phone call with directions. Recommended if you fancy a real bush style experience, but like the comforts of home. Lots of wildlife around and not too far too Thredbo.
