The Dolon House Bed and Breakfast

If you are going to be in the Jim Thorpe area, The Dolon House Bed and Breakfast is the place to stay. My husband and I were warmly greeted as we pulled up to the very well preserved mansion, and were secured a parking spot in the lot. Our host was wonderful and accommodating, as he helped us carry our luggage into the mansion and escorted us to our room. Our room, "The Blue Room," was immaculate to say the least. The little extras were amazing. We booked a romance package and there was a bottle of wine and scrumptious chocolates waiting for us in the mini fridge. Other goodies were coffee and tea, and an assortment of yummy cookies out in the beautiful hall. Everything about our room was delightful and cozy. The decor and relaxing atmosphere really made us feel pampered and cared for. The building itself is very well maintained and was spotlessly clean. The gorgeous Tiffany glass chandeliers and Victorian decor really make you feel like you're back in time. The front porch is a lovely place to sit and relax, read, or enjoy a snack. Last, but certainly not least, our three course breakfast the next morning, was absolutely divine! I cannot have milk or eggs and they had oat milk, and almond milk for my coffee, whichever I preferred. Also, my husband had eggs for his entree and I was served a roasted corn polenta that was out of this world. The chef is amazing! Everything was delicious and we both cleaned our plates. You can immediately tell right from the start that everything is handled with love and care, and we cannot wait to take another trip back!

Beautiful, magnificent home. Innkeepers John and Eric were fantastic. They provided great service and wonderful, delicious three-course breakfasts. Very much enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Jim Thorpe.

The Dolon House is a beautiful property with an incredible location in downtown Jim Thorpe. The property owners Michael and Jeffri (and Pearl) made the stay feel like a home away from home. If there was a higher recommendation that I could give I would!

Usually when I go for a Bed and Breakfast, I'm thinking more about the bed than the breakfast, so this place was a total revelation. The "bed" portion was certainly great, and Michael and Jeffrey are consummate hosts in all respects, but the breakfast is what sets the place apart. Everything is cooked fresh from the morning haul from local farms and butchers, so each dish is both a culinary delight and an education about surrounding area. You'll learn about the best things to do in Jim Thorpe, the best places to hike, and the most interesting stories about the town, not to mention, all under the roof of one of the town's many historic houses.

All we could have hoped for in historic Jim Thorpe - breakfast by a master chef, a millionaire's home made into a brilliant BnB, an attentive host (kudos, Michael!), a central location to all you want to do, parking on premises, spacious rooms-- really all you could ask for.

Words simply cannot express how much we loved our stay at the Dolon House. This impeccably decorated inn is located on the main street of historic Jim Thorpe. Easy walking to everywhere. Michael and Jeffri are so helpful - they had great suggestions for touring and eating!! The breakfasts were phenomenal - three courses of deliciousness. Our absolute favorite.
