Hotel Bodega Tio Pepe

Great hotel in a lovely location. I had a beautiful room with a large roof terrace overlooking the cathedral. Very good breakfast served in the garden with lots of options. Small roof top pool and bar area again with beautiful views. Helpful friendly staff

Lovely room, with super view over hotel garden and town. Ideal situation next to the Bodega and five to ten minutes walk into town centre. The staff were exceptionally helpful, answering all questions and arranging a visit to the Tio Pepe bodega, booking taxis where needed and recommending places to eat. They happily liaised with the Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestra to sort a query with my booking for the horse show. Excellent breakfast with lots of choice. The rooftop bar area is small but adequate, with friendly staff and lovely views. It’s expensive, but the service was impeccable. Only quibble was that the restaurant attached to the hotel has quite restricted opening hours, so didn’t get a chance to try it.

The first room that we were booked into was dirty, with hair in the bathroom. The room we were then moved to was clean, but right beside reception, and therefore noisy. On one evening, we were woken up by somebody taking a loud video call from the reception area at 1am. I had to get out of bed and leave the room to ask them to be quiet. There were no hotel staff in sight. The swimming pool area was absolutely filthy. The glass was very dirty, and there was rubbish, including a discarded plaster, which was disgusting and unhygienic. The poolside bar was not staffed. The service at breakfast was very poor and inattentive. On both mornings, we ordered items that never appeared. Our room key card stopped working twice and had to be reissued. When I raised these complaints, the hotel offered me a complimentary return stay. I cannot think of anything I'd like to do less.

We stayed for two nights at Hotel Bodega Tio Pepe in Jerez. After several nights in both Cadiz and Sevilla we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was very central to both the shops and restaurants and only twenty minutes walk from the train station. The hotel was located right next to the cathedral and the Alcazar and is part of the bodega site which makes Tio Pepe sherry & wine. There was a small pool area upstairs on the top of the hotel and breakfast was served in the restaurant courtyard area. Although we didn’t use the pool it had a fabulous view of the cathedral next door and was very popular. We arrived early on the first day and so the reception held our bags for the day as we walked around Jerez and allowed us to check in to our room half an hour early. The bedroom was really nicely decorated and had a huge bed and a modern bathroom. There was also a fridge however unfortunately this did not keep the water cool. The breakfast was delicious and all made to order. There was a great selection of meals and the croissant/ pastry board was a definite highlight. One day we had scrambled eggs, tomato and avocado with toasts and a Spanish cooked breakfast and the other we had soft boiled eggs. It was really lovely to be sat in the courtyard which was all very well nicely designed. We would definitely go back to the hotel and the staff team were very polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
