Best Western Plus Jekyll Island

We were in town for the Diamond Cheer and Dance competition this weekend and we were very pleased with our stay. Management was very informative on every detail to know about our stay. All the staff were very pleasant. We would recommend this hotel to our friends and family. We will book again in the near future.

Very bad experience, AC in room was not working at check-in. Hotel thought the problem was corrected, but it stopped around 11PM. There was no one available to fix the problem and no other rooms available. The AM front desk clerk was able to find us another room which was fine. My main problem I was put in a 2nd floor room in a building with no elevator the 1st time. Going up and down the steps carrying my luggage really missed up my knee, which then made it hard for me to walk. Walking on the beach is one of my greatest pleasures and I had looked forward to this. When I asked the PM desk clerk Eddie who was the one who checked us in, why he would put someone my age in a 2nd floor without a elevator, his only response was it was an upgrade as we had gotten a suite for the price of a regular room. I was upset and tired as I hadn't slept well from the hot room and I would appreciated a little sympathy to the situation. He had been very arrogant at check-in and now it was plain he could care less what I had been through. Things continued to escalate till he told to leave the lobby unless I apologize to him, when I felt I was the one who desired an apology. Also, make sure you check your charges as there were extra charges on my bill. This hotel has some really good features as it is in a great location, the rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.

Extremely comfortable and the staff were great. We stayed for our 40th wedding anniversary and loved it. We found the location to be perfect. And the facilities were very clean and maintained well inside and out. The beaches were beautiful and the hiking and biking trails on the island are breathtaking.

Breakfast was good- eggs and ham each morning plus a waffle machine rounded out the hot food. One kind of bread, one kind of bagel and a few assorted muffins; cereal; oranges; coffee and tea (would have liked cocoa); juices. So a decent selection. Pool area was nice. Room was clean; furniture was worn but okay. Beach was right across the street so very convenient. Bed was clean and comfortable, which was most important to me. Staff was friendly. Would stay again.

Appreciate the microwave and the refrigerator in each of the rooms. I kept a few snacks in there for lunch and drinks and bottled water. This place has great towels, washcloths and hand towels. They’re soft and they’re not too big and bright white so I know they’re very clean the showerhead could use a bit more pressure, but it was, great hot water. I didn’t have time to enjoy the pool or rent a bike, but I’m planning to come back next month so I will take advantage of those amenities. Breakfast was good; I brought my own gluten-free bagel. Could use a few more gluten-free breakfast items; Overall, a beautiful Resort community.
