Jekyll Island Club Resort

Jekyll Island is a relaxing getaway with a staff is so attentive that you don't want for anything. The grounds are perfect, rooms are spacious, comfortable with balconies were you can watch the day pass by as you sip on a cold beverage. The food in the main dinning room was outstanding and the low country seafood at the Warf is a must. This place was like paradise. Be sure to catch the sunset at one of the many the beaches and make sure to catch the wounder of Driftwood Beach.

Overall we had a great experience. The resort is beautiful with an awesome history and so many amenities. However, its not without lacking. It's not as clean as I would expect it to be but I get it... it's old. When we would get off the elevator there was a moldy smell coming from the AC and even with their renovation our bathroom had a broken knob and you can't control the AC in the room which led to some very warm/uncomfortable nights. But like I said overall we enjoyed our stay and the Pros outweigh the Cons. We would recommend it and would stay again.

Great old fashion southern resort. Quiet with all the immenities. Good food, wonderful help. The Island offers many cool spots to enjoy, beaches, golf, bike, and tours. Amazing history of times gone by. See how the ultra wealthy lived back in the Guiled Age.

This was my 15th stay in the past 30 years. With all the travel options available there is a reason we keep choosing Jekyll. Time stops once you pass thru the island gates and as lovely as the beach side is I will only ever stay at the club. Truly everything you need is here- Stunning sunsets, southern hospitality and relaxation all without having to leave the historic district!

Our daughter’s wedding weekend was a wonderful experience. We rented Crane Cottage. All of the rooms at Crane were comfortably appointed, plenty of room, and each were unique. We did have the a/c go out, but it was fixed immediately. The entire staff was professional, personable, friendly, and just did an amazing job! The food was fabulous! Many of our guests complimented the dinner (sit down) at the reception. My favorite meal was the farewell brunch on the croquet lawn. The spread was delightful, plentiful, and a nice variety. We were able to enjoy the heated pool and relax before the rehearsal dinner with both families. Plenty of shaded seating. After the rehearsal dinner about 10 of us gathered at the club for a night cap. We took a trolley tour on Sunday with some of our remaining guests, and went to the museum. The candy store on Pier St. is a short walk to get ice cream or sweet treats. The club dining room served a very nice breakfast (buffet) with a made to order omelette station. If you enjoy good food, great service, and a quiet, relaxing time; you will love your stay. We have stayed at the club before Noble House acquired it, and they have really made exceptional improvements. If you are looking for a unique venue for a special event, this should be on your list to tour.

Having visited Jekyll Island previously, my wife and I had looked forward to a time when we could return and stay at this historic hotel. We made reservations this past August for a queen island view room but when we arrived, we were given a room that more accurately ought to be identified as a mechanical equipment view room. (See pictures). Before unpacking, we asked if we could be assigned to a different room but were told that they had nowhere else to put us. They did say that we could check back daily and see if something opened up but, who wants to pack and unpack to move from room to room on a vacation? Besides the view, the room itself was tiny, the carpet was stained, the floor lamp did not work, there was a water mark and peeling paint on the walls and there was no comfortable place to sit in the room even though the pictures on the website of this room level had an upholstered chair. Though the common areas of the hotel maintained their historic charm, other details were lacking. The staff, by and large, didn't seem to take pride in their job and in serving guests though I will say that the young man that doubled as valet and bellman made a good impression. We had intended to stay for four nights but as the week went on, we became more and more disappointed so on day 4, we decided to return home. We checked out after noon so the front desk asked my wife why we were leaving early. She told her how disappointed we were and as we were driving home, we got a call from the hotel expressing their apologies that they had failed to meet our expectations. They indicated they were going to waive the last night's charge even though we checked out after the posted checkout time. Though unexpected, we thought that was a kind gesture. However upon receiving our credit card statement, they did not follow through. We were charged for the full four nights of our reservation...why make a promise if you're not going to keep it??? This was just the last straw in one of our worst vacation experiences. This is a property that bills itself as a 4 diamond property and one of the best destination properties in the US, but I have had better experiences staying in a 2 star Holiday Inn Express.
