We had a great stay at Papagayo Resort, the villas are nice and well equipped. The restaurant was not open and the spa was also close but they manage to send some masseuses to the villa and were great, the service to the villa is slow, the supermarket is very close but you need a car to get al the food. the beach is very close but is not for people with disabilities unless you rent a car. Over all it was a nice stay, there is room for improvement and the location is very pretty, a bit far from everything else in the island and taxis are very expensive. Alsa you need a adaptor for your electronics.

If I had to rate Papagayo Beach Resort, I would give it a 10 out of 10! TOP service! The staff is super helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate us. Can’t wait for my next stay!

Staff are super helpful, felt very safe and comfortable. The villa was clean and all facilities in great working order. Food at the Papagayo Beach Club is tasty and prices are fair. Supermarket nearby is a plus when you like to prepare your own meals and buy more water and other bits and bobs such as sunscreen, mosquito repellent, after sun balms, etc.

Jan Thiel has a great vibe and this property provides both easy access to entertainment and quiet areas/privacy to just hang out with friends. We stayed in Villa 115 and especially enjoyed the sliding doors that afford great views, ventilation, and privacy when desired. The property is clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the villas contain all the utilities and kitchenware you need. Furnishings are stylish and comfortable. The grocery store is within easy walking distance, as is the entertainment complex which provides a variety of bar/dining options at multiple price points. The Papagayo infinity pool (saltwater) is both beautiful and refreshing with plenty of beach chairs for everyone.

2 bedroom appartement and was great, great bed, porch, kitchen etc. Distance to beach about 400 meters. Didn't use the pool at the resort and restaurant was closed which wasn't clear to us. Yes I would come back.

Fantastic accommodation (bungalow 304) with a private pool in a beautiful location overlooking the garden and sea. Service-minded staff at the reception (Anissa Landiz). Daily cleaning, fresh towels and bath towels provided daily. Minor issues (loose shower head and loose decking board) were resolved within a few hours by maintenance. Relaxed and peaceful atmosphere throughout the resort. Disappointing experience at the beach club restaurant (at the hotel).

Absolutely stunning stay at Papagayo beach resort! We had the most beautiful 3 bedroom villa with a beautiful ocean view. We loved the 2 bathrooms, great AC in the bedroom, kitchen, and the stunning deck. The staff was extremely helpful for the few things that we needed, replacing our coffee machine and providing us with electrical adapters to borrow. Really can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay and am looking forward to returning!

We had a wonderful stay at the resort — the villa was absolutely amazing and perfect for our family. Unfortunately, our experience was slightly overshadowed by an issue after we left. I realized at the airport that I had forgotten my jewelry box in the villa. I called the resort immediately, and they confirmed they had it and just needed my details to ship it back. While I appreciated the quick response at first, I never received any updates afterward and had to follow up multiple times over the next few weeks. After three weeks, I was finally told there would be a shipping cost — something that was never mentioned before. It’s now been a month and they have yet to send it or respond. I wish I could have left a much better review.
