The Cabins - House of Juniper

Beautiful place, very clean and upmarket. Why only 2 stars then? We stayed in the manse and had a 1st floor loch view room (the window on the right of the stock picture on trip advisor), the Manse has a steam room and Sauna on the ground floor - our room was upstairs from it. It's the most uncomfortably warm room we've ever stayed in. Bearing in mind this is October in Skye - the room temp was 27.5 degrees C with the radiators turned off cool to touch and the window opened all night!! God knows what this room would be like in summer. It's poorly though out to have the Sauna and steam room in the same building. The room needs air con. I think this room would break H&S guidance on temps in the summer. Even the stairs and landing were warm. It's not 24/7 reception so we had no one to really complain to and without aircon nothing anyone could have done as the place looked fully booked.

Lovely stay at The House of Juniper Cabins The Cabins are in an excellent location and our stay was very comfortable. Our cabin had a view of the bay which made it that bit nicer! It was very spacious compared to some other similar style cabins we have stayed in before. They were also a reasonable distance apart from one another. It includes a full sized bedroom, full sized bathroom and a spacious kitchen/dining/living area for 2 people. There was also plenty of space for our 2 dogs. The small terrace on the front of the cabin is also lovely and it is a nice touch to be able to lock the gate so that the doors can be left open but the dogs can be off lead. The furnishings were all nice and new, and good quality. The supplies in the kitchen were great, with oil, salt and pepper included (really helpful!) The only thing that we picked up on was that the curtains at the front of the cabin need to be washed/cleaned. We enjoyed a delicious meal and cocktails at The Sprig. Staff were friendly and the host was incredibly accommodating. We would return again and we would definitely recommend to others!
