Wild Dunes Resort

Phillisa was so helpful and kind. Great experience!. Although the weather was not the best, she was so friendly and helpful. Checking in, things around the resort and checking out.

The beach is beautiful. The resort is geared towards families with young children and not a place for relaxation for adults. The beach chairs, umbrellas, and bikes are not included with the room and resort fee.

We visited the resort to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The hotel was super accommodating and made us feel special. Beautiful resort and wonderful staff.

Half business trip and half personal. Everything was just ok. Very pricey for the quality of the resort, food and drinks.

I recently returned from a visit to Wild Dunes. My wife and I hosted my son and his family for several days. We rented a house. The property itself is nice. A nice selection of pools, a nice long beach for relaxing and swimming and for the most part friendly staff. Now the negative. We followed the directions provided us. It took us to the wrong gate, not the residential entrance but the one for the hotels. The two men at the gate were very friendly but they had no record of our reservation or name. They made a call and finally found that we were expected but there was no welcoming package or anything else. We went for a ride and when we returned, there finally was a welcoming package. The front keypad lock did not work. I communicated with the welcoming agent who text me and said a maintenance person would come by. One never did, all day long. Finally, a maintenance man showed up and he was super. Great demeanor, friendly, courteous and very helpful He even screwed on a door knob that was hanging loose going into the primary bedroom. The house was not clean. There were no face wash cloths or dish towels for the kitchen. The A/C was so cold and without any means of adjusting. There was not enough toilet paper for the 4 adults and three children. I reported it and requested additional TP and told that house keeping would bring more. They never did. I finally reminded the folks about our need and they said it had been delivered and sent a picture of it sitting on a front porch. Unfortunately, it was not our front porch. There were only two pods for the dishwasher. Not enough. I requested additional and never got them but I did get more little bottle liquid soap for hand washing of dishes. There was a coffee pot but no filters, no condiments or anything one would expect for the price of the rental. I own a vacation home which I rent. It comes fully equipped with everything one would want or need. One might refer to as luxury. The rate is comparable although it may actually cost a bit less. It is located in a resort community on a body of water in a resort village. We make sure that guests feel welcomed and not have to worry about returning to the store for anything. We even leave a welcoming gift of cheese, fruit, baguette and liquid refreshments. I should disclose that I was CEO of this resort community and have been in the hospitality industry for a long time. I retired this past June. I may be guilty of imposing my practices and expectations on other resorts. I was going to give this rating 1 star, but my very positive person to person experience with the gentleman who resolved my bad keypad and door set made me raise it to 2 stars.

My wife and I recently stayed at the wild dunes resort. Staff was very friendly. Be careful what rooms you take because of excessive noise from the rooftop bar and event center. We were on the 5th floor and the noise was quite loud. Also, note there is a very high resort fee of more than $100 per day. If it rains, which it did for four consecutive days, your resort fee is still applied. Their response: we did give you two water bottles each day. I wouldn’t say it was Dom Perignon. Geez…. Housekeeping is also an issue. We had mold on the ceiling and walls near the sir-conditioning vent. Problem is that the thermostat shuts off when there is no motion in the room. Your room will feel stuffy and smell if out all day, we will never return to the Wild Dunes Resort.
