Lovely resort stay with beautiful landscapes and gorgeous golf view with beach nearby. Enjoyed the calm and peaceful nature. Would love to stay there longer for my next visit. Delicious breakfast spread (made to order with various choices).

Wonderful hotel with lots to do. The short walk onto such a lovely beach with nobody else there, was wonderful. The hotel team were all super helpful and we were very well looked after. Lots of fresh fish and seafood available at lunch and dinner, which is right up my street. The only down side is not being there for long enough.

The Macherie is one of the most beautiful hotels experience we’ve ever had mostly due to its unbelievable beautiful location. Yes the hotel is quite nice , the rooms are cozy and nicely appointed. The restaurant is top notch but nothing comes close to the spectacular setting it’s located on . The Hotels finest achievement IMO is the “Stagg Lounge” one the greatest spaces you can spend time in , having a cocktail, afternoon tea or simply staring endlessly out the massive window onto the beautiful golf course and surrounding countryside and beaches .

Visited for the day to play the golf course, and what a course it is. Amazing setting, great design and excellent condition. Played on a sunny day with just enough wind to keep it interesting. Warm welcome at reception, and especially in the pro shop. Lots of chat about the course, the facilities and a suggestion for a stop on the way back to the ferry. One quibble. We went in for breakfast and the manager (?) said to the waitress, lodly and rather disparagingly, "couple of walk- ins!!" Actually, no, two visiting golfers, who would appreciate breakfast after an early start! Not very polite. Additionally, as you have a fixed price for breakfast, why not say so? Otherwise, just a bagel and coffee is rather expensive! Although it was jolly nice. Lovely surroundings, restaurant experience wasn't very welcoming, but overall, pleased we'd made the journey.

We were so excited about going to this hotel after reading reviews but sadly it didn’t quite live up to them . Good things were the location is lovely, very comfortable beds/pillows Delicious food ( but limited food choices) However…. On arrival at airport no one was around to pick us up , when we rang hotel they hadn’t booked us in for a taxi, even though they had spoken to us about it less than 24 hours before! No open fires were lit despite it being dark, wet and blowy outside , none were lit throughout our stay sadly. Our room was extremely small and did not fit with the description we had booked, an outside light was on all night shining in room around the curtain blind , They agreed to upgrade us for an additional cost ! The second room was lovely with lots of room … no mini bar in either room. No outside hot tub or sauna were working Breakfast had no fresh fruit or nuts/seeds, the kedgeree was curried! Slightly odd for breakfast We really felt it was below other 4* hotels we have stayed in unfortunately
