There is a lot to like about this resort hotel, in particular, the Royal Level. The location is ideal, within easy reach of the airport and Costa Teguise, yet quiet and in front of a beach favoured by locals and those keen to swim or sunbathe in nature undisturbed by music or hawkers (no sand but sheltered and with relative easy rock entry and exit). The staff and the food are both reasons why I choose to stay at Barceló hotels. Active Resort Costa Teguise is no exception to this. This was my first taste of Royal Level hospitality and the choice of food is exceptional, especially considering the numbers catered for. The only major downside is that the public areas are looking a bit tired. In fact, the whole hotel could probably do with a refurb., albeit in phases as it is always popular.

Disappointing stay so far. We stayed in the royal level in Tenerife and thought we would try another resort. Big mistake. It is not exclusive and really should not be called Royal - don’t stay here if you want royal level treatment. The corridors in the Royal Level look like a 2 star hotel and need a huge refresh of paint. Not a great first impression. The royal level pool is a disgrace - no where near enough umbrellas and it’s sad to see other guests complaining in June and we are now August. Also not enough sun beds - have to queue at 08:30 to get them saved. Royal level buffet in the evenings - same every night - no real difference. In Tenerife they offered a la carte options which felt exclusive - not at this resort - it’s the same as everyone else. For more than 7 nights you get a voucher to eat in the Italian or Asian restaurant- great! However you have to pay for alcohol. This is out of order when you have an all inclusive royal level package. Tenerife it was included. Deluxe junior suite sea view 2309 has no sea view - an industry plant was our view. Room not cleaned properly every day. Don’t stay here for Royal Level treatment. Tui and Jet2 need to update their ratings as it’s Not Royal Level treatment!

The Royal Level building at best is 3*. Corridors and walls crumbling. Average 3* rooms, bathroom had nowhere to put clothes whilst you showered. Floors not mopped all week and balcony furniture crumbling, my husband repaired our chairs! Alcohol good choices. Restaurant repetitive. Queue 45 mins before pool area opened to get a sun-bed & then a mad scramble.

Third time at the royal level and possibly the best yet. They have made a number of improvements since we were last here including more evening entertainment in the royal lounge and the main reception which was a very welcome addition. Food and drinks overall were once again absolutely fantastic. We would also like to take the time to recognise a number of colleagues at the royal level who made our stay so memorable with fantastic service, Pavel and Dylan in the Asana restaurant, both guys provided the most wonderful service and made us feel like very special guests. Also Adela, Alec and Javier in the royal lounge and bar once again provided us with the most fabulous service. A huge thank you. We will 100% be back xx

Best Hotel I’ve ever stayed in . Staff are amazing , food is unbelievable and all the facilities are gorgeous . Activities on every day , even little tattoos new the pool . Definitely worth every penny to upgrade to the Royal level .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely clean hotel . Lovely rooms . Goa pool bar very good . Food also good staff very friendly. Breakfast good . But dinner and evening meals in the Royal level very repetitive and Luke warm . Entertainment ok . We paid for royal level but nothing royal about our stay . No. Ala carte restaurant in the hotel. You can book the ala carte restaurant over the road in the plaza . But it’s a set menu included in Royal level . If you want to choose from the menu yourself it’s a 20% discount. Nothing special. There nothing outside of the hotel and no sandy beach just a rocky beach at the back . There’s a bus stop on either side of the road and a taxi rank , but if you like to walk to a few bars and restaurants it’s a good 30min walk . It’s a shame as the staff are very helpful,and friendly . Unfortunately we would not return . Also daily entertainment program in Royal level changes. Wednesday was supposed to be a saxophonist, which turned out to be just a DJ . Saxophonist turned up on Saturday at the white party , but no sign of dancer as described in the magazine you get on arrival .

My 12 year old daughter and I had a lovely 4 day break here. Speedy and friendly check in, room was very spacious, beds very comfortable, large balcony with pool view. Felt very safe from the start. Pool towels exchanged as often as needed. Plenty loungers, especially till mid morning so no rush to reserve. Lots of day and evening entertainment to keep busy. Food and service in the Asana restaurant was great. It was never too busy or noisy. Plenty adult and children's drinks available around the clock. We also had a nice afternoon at the pool across the road which was a lot busier. It took us 40 mins to walk into Costa Teguise from the hotel.
