This was a fantastic camp. I have worked in some of the luxury lodges of southern Africa, and Ashnil Samburu certainly strived to be up there with them. The service was really excellent - front of house very attentive and welcoming, the bar staff very friendly, and Japheth our waiter was exceptional. We loved the fact that there was no buffet - for a change on this trip! The grounds are very well kept, the view brilliant and the night time porcupine an added bonus. Game is often seen across the river and on the plain just outside camp. All in all a great experience and we miss it a lot! Thank you

Beautiful camp with a very good location on the river. Well-equipped tents and a great team, friendly, incredibly helpful, and very professional. Very good food and service. Many thanks in particular to David for his beautiful music in the restaurant and around the campfire Ken&Ken for security and the campfire Our very friendly and extremely professional waiter, Jophethan. Not to mention the excellent massage, unfortunately we forgot her name. And of course, all the rest of the team, especially the bar crew. It should be noted, however, that the camp is not located in Samburu National Park, as the name suggests, but in the neighboring Buffalo Springs National Park. This means that if you want to visit Samburu (as well), you currently have to pay double the entrance fee (for Buffalo Springs National Park, since you're staying there overnight, and then for Samburu as well). This was different in the past, which is a shame. However, it should be said that Buffalo Springs National Park is also beautiful, and you can easily spend two or three days there alone.

Nice rooms (management pictures on Tripadvisor are a little different than what we saw), very friendly staff in the restaurant and overall a nice accommodation. Bar staff could have been a little more friendly and food could be better. Lunch in the restaurant was good, but picnic lunch was really simple and not nice. We enjoyed our stay, lots of monkeys!

This is such an amazing location, and the staff are amazing! You will absolutely see animals! We would wake up to elephants and reticulated giraffes crossing right in front of our site. Monkeys will hang out on your patio and baboons are constantly nearby. We made the mistake of not locking the zipper (absolutely on us! they tell you to do so multiple times) and had some monkeys enter and wreck havoc! However, staff dealt with it quickly and were super nice about it! Don't just close the zipper- the monkeys know how to open it and it needs to be locked down. It's got a lush and green look to it too so it's a small reprieve from the hot Samburu summer. Something that wasn't made clear was that they do tend to have times when they turn off the power to so prepare yourself. The food is nice and was always different. We had a lovely time and will recommend it to anyone.

We just finished our 19 day safari with 23 people. All of them agreed that this was the best place that we stayed. Roomy, well appointed tents. You could see elephants across the river when you got up in the morning. Nice pool. Great staff. And the food was the best! NO BUFFETS. All meals were off a menu, well prepared and beautifully presented. WOW! And the serving staff were also the best...professional and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

The communal parts of the camp are simple, but their tents are excellent, with b i g beds and a nice deck. The food is absolutely first rate and presented beautifully. One is spoilt for choice and at lunch and dinner they have not one, but two choices for vegetarians; a rare treat. Staff go out of their way to please, for me this was the first camp ever where they run to carry your bags upon departure. My grumbles concern the carpets next to the bed, they are a hazard on a polished wooden floor and the bathroom floor, when wet, is downright lethal.

Beautiful setting! Kennedy our server was delightful and very attentive to our needs. The food was delicious. The Baboons were present and fascinating to view. The semi tents and ensuites were immaculately clean and comfortable. A great place to stay.

We went for our honeymoon and the place it’s amazing , you feel like in a real camping experience, all meals are included and loved every dish , the view for the restaurant it’s amazing view to the river , I love the service , our server was amazing he is from Masai Mara , but working there , Rose the therapist the best !! I want to take her home.. love the experience.. the manager was amazing too , she gave us a lovely welcome .. I totally recommend this place
