Samburu Intrepids Tented Camp

We had a fantastic experience at Intrepids and cannot recommend it highly enough. A special mention to Julie who always has time to chat with guests. A wonderful place and a super experience

I had the most amazing experience, from the check in formality, to the dinning experience, the time spent there was really amazing and I’d do it again! I would like to take this moment especially to thank the manager for organizing our bush dinner experience, with thanks to our waiter Trevor, barman, chefs and Steve the naturalist. All of you made our experience amazingly beautiful and we felt at home. Thank you so much to all Samburu Intrapid team.

This was a wonderful place to stay...a "camping" feel to the tent, but a "glamping" level of facilities and service. This is a beautiful location with tents that are warmly welcoming, even when it's winter in Kenya (the heated water bottle in the bed at night was a really neat special touch!). The rest of the facility, their amenities, the food, and the entertainment/talks - all of it was excellent. It was the people, though, that made it really special. They were SO attentive to us, in a one-on-one way, and truly, genuinely friendly and happy to have us. I would absolutely recommend this camp. It's special!

Samburu Intrepids Tented Lodge I can divide the positives and negatives to help fellow travellers with their decisions . Positives 1. Staff were fantastic ! Trevor an intern working in the restaurant was with us the 3 nights we stayed . Absolute Gem that this lodge has . Professional , responsive , attentive and best of all he would know what we like and got it ready even before we mentioned . He would make a special brew for my wife as she preferred it . Barbara in reception handled all our requirements with a smile and never said no to anything . Simply got it done with a smile . In fact every member of the lodge from luggage team , security , reception , housekeeping , gardeners, the breakfast ladies and maintence treated us with a smile and “ Jambo bwana “ every time and everywhere . 2. Property is lovely and set overlooking a wonderful part of the river 3. Food was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT ! . The presentation , taste , variety and the waiting team delivered on time and with a smile . 4. Fantastic game just a short ride from the lodge . Negatives 1. The land across the river is some kind of local settlement so no wild animals came to drink water anytime of the day or night . Most lodges have some kind of water hole so guests enjoy watching wild life while seating on the observation deck over looking the river . But this was totally lacking here . 2. Electricity is rationed 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm and then 12.00 midnight to 5.00 am . 3. Wifi is only available in reception block but none in the rooms . 4. It’s is one of the furthest lodges so a bit of a drive to the game . So all in all , I enjoyed my stay at Samburu Intrepids and I will return . No doubt as the positives do out weigh the smaller negatives . Thank you all at Samburu Intrepids .

We had a wonderful stay at the Intrepids. The camp is very nice with a good standard, we were a family of five with three young adults sharing one tent. The service was very good with helpful staff. The lady Lucy meeting us by our table at all meals was setting a fun and warm tone as she met us with a big smile and a lot of jokes - we loves that. And as she asked us to mention in this review - she is very pretty 😊 Her personality and service made us feel home and welcome. As for feedback the food volum a been better, for example the soups. But main course was always good.

This was the second trip I had made to Kenya and the accommodations just keep getting better. The people are so very kind and the food was amazing. The room was super comfortable. The staff were very helpful in getting my 89 year old mom to her room and around the property. I wish I could have stayed longer. I even got to celebrate my birthday 🎂 and was sung to in Swahili.
