Holt Inn is a hidden gem in Önundarfjörður – cozy rooms, stunning views, and the warmest hospitality. Everything was spotless and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious with local touches. If you want peace, comfort, and true Icelandic charm, this is the perfect place to stay.

Spectacular Inn! The Holt Inn is a wonderful Inn. Easy check in experience, professional friendly staff. The included breakfast was tasty and varied. The hotel is ultra quiet and located in Flateyri. It is only 20 min or so drive to Isafjordur. The Inn was very clean, the rooms were well appointed. There is a common room to relax and read. There is a small gift shoppe with handmade items. The Blueberry Jam made by "Helga" is out of this world good! There is a small self-serve beverage fridge, you pay for items at the end of your stay. There is a fantastic hot tub, set in a private forest on the property. 5 Stars all the way! Iceland is wonderful!

A wonderful experience! The inn is located in a very well-done conversion of a school that is part of a compound that includes a church and cemetery. A very relaxing country atmosphere. We didn't find many hiking opportunities accesible from the property, but plenty to do nearby. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and providing much advice regarding local sites and hiking opportunies. The staff was the highlight of our 2 nights at Holt. The breakfast was excellent and is the only meal offered. For others, Flateryi is a short drive and has 2 options (only one after 5:00 p.m.). But then there is Kaffi Sol, which is on the way to Flateryi. The posted hours are 12-5. But, reservations can be made for evening meals. They are homecooked by Gunna and were delicious and she was wonderful. Dining at Kaffi Sol was a highlight of our stay not only at Holt Inn but of our entire travels in the West Fjords.

This is a small inn which used to be a boarding school for the area. They don’t have a restaurant so eat before you come. They do have a chicken soup that is homemade but needs to be warmed up. As we had a lot of luggage, the lady at reception upgraded us. She was very sweet. We stayed for the night and had to do an early check out at 7. Since breakfast opens at 8 and she didn’t know we leave early, she felt very bad we were leaving on an empty stomach and quickly made us a breakfast to go.

One of our favorite stays in Iceland! We arrived pretty late into the night but there was no hassle checking in. Room was clean, bed was comfy! Take advantage of the hot tub, it was a treat soaking under the northern lights. To top it all off, a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet.

This beautifully managed inn is welcoming, friendly, and quite isolated on Onundarfjord in the Westfjords of Iceland. Our room was simple but comfortable, one of ten or so in what used to be a schoolhouse, surrounded by stunning views of fjord and mountains. The breakfasts were the best of all the places we stayed. We felt well taken care of by our hosts and hope to go back on our next visit.

We loved the family atmosphere and hospitality. Clean rooms , nice and bright very comfortable beds , use of fridge and microwave . Loved the hot tub through a path in a wooded area , great even in the rain . Even a piano to play
