Property Description
Whether it’s relaxation, a trip to downtown Asheville or Waynesville, fishing, hiking or just a peaceful stay on a beautiful bend of the river that you are looking for then this is the place for your vacation! Please refer to our other cabin listing Paradise at the Rivers Edge! to see our reviews. Just completed in May 2019 this cabin, like our Paradise Cabin, is unlike any cabin you will see anywhere. This perfect getaway sits on a 65 acre private estate located in the heart of the Great
Smoky Mountains. The setting makes you feel like you are in the backcountry or out west yet you are just minutes away from downtown Asheville or Waynesville and everything this area has to offer. We are only 1 mile from I-40 Exit 24 and 25 miles to downtown Asheville and The Biltmore Estate. You only need to make a mere 10 minute drive to enjoy all that Downtown Waynesville has to offer from fine dining to some of the areas best local breweries. The Blue Ridge Parkway cuts right through this area and you are just minutes away from several of its entrances.
After more than 20 years of dismantling old barns and log cabins and hoarding away the kinds of things you can’t just run out to the local building supply and buy, this unique property started to take shape. From the hand hewn solid oak log walls to the tobacco stick handrails this is a one of a kind getaway. All the woodwork and trim in the cabin is reclaimed from barns that were built 100 plus years ago by the owners great grandfather and has been transformed into what you will see in this truly unique property! All the flooring is salvaged from blizzard grade locust trees from the surrounding high mountains and made into a beautiful plank floor. Whether you want to bring the family or have just a private romantic getaway for your honeymoon/anniversary, this is a cabin unlike any other you will find.
Fishing this area is a big attraction so bring your fishing poles and get lost in the beauty of the western North Carolina mountains. Walk out the front door and down to the river and be fishing within minutes of your arrival.
The cabin offers a master suite with a handcrafted locust king size bed with pillow top mattress on the main level with a private bathroom and large tile shower. The upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed with pillow top mattress and it’s own bathroom. The loft area is well equipped with a full size sofa pullout sleeper overlooking the living area. There is also a queen size sleeper sofa in the living area. The kitchen has most everything for your cooking needs.. The living area is equipped with a large flat screen television and a fireplace/entertainment center. Both bedrooms also have flat screen as well. The cabin has Direct Now internet television as well as WiFi. With one bedroom and bathroom upstairs and one bedroom and bathroom downstairs it is a perfect spot for two couples to have plenty of privacy. Open up the huge glass doors and let the lullaby of the river coming around the bend echo through the cabin. Don’t forget the front porch where you will want to spend most of your time taking in the view and listening to the soothing sounds of nature. Watch closely for the huge cranes, hawks, geese, ducks and bald eagles that patrol the river. With the cabin being on the rivers edge you will most likely see some type of wildlife during your stay, there are coyotes, turkeys, deer, bear, squirrels, etc. Don’t be surprised to wake up to the cattle walking by just outside in the morning. With the long range Mountain View driveway leading to the cabin and the waterfront location this is a truly one of a kind property.
This cabin is home to more than fifty head of cattle so pets are not allowed at any time during your stay here. Also smoking is not allowed in the house but the porch and outside areas are allowed. Please discard cigarettes responsibly as there are dry leaves in heavily wooded areas surrounding the cabin.
With four unique private log cabins available now....Riverbend Cabin (listing number 7843149), Paradise Cabin (listing number 1148597), Cedar Cliff Cabin (listing number 2232038) and Castaway Cabin (listing number 3156188) please don’t hesitate to message us regarding multiple cabin rentals for your family getaway.
We hope that your visit to the mountains of Western North Carolina and stay in our cabin creates memories that will last forever. Please be respectful and treat the cabin as if it were your own as we respect you as a customer.

In town for a golf event
I was in town for a large golf event with friends that we do every year at this time. My wife daughter and I stayed here. Could not have asked for anything better. We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is directly in front of the river and access is easy. Everything about the place is top notch. Hopefully it will be available when we return next year.

Sanctuary!!
I am reluctant to tell others how amazing this cabin is because I don't want it to be booked next time I want to go...which is next week. LOL. From the moment you enter the property, you know this place is something special. You see the beautiful farm with cows, horses, and tons of beautiful trees. When you arrive at the Riverbend Cabin, you see the rushing water of the Pigeon River flowing over the rocks and the sound instantly calms you. As you enter the front porch, you will immediately see that a lot of thought was put into building and decorating this space. The reclaimed wood throughout the home is exquisite and rare. This was really special since my husband works in the millwork industry and we knew that Jack built this cabin himself with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The interior has everything you could want and more. Jack and Christy even took the time to leave me a birthday card, bottle of wine, and a chocolate cake!!! I was astounded. The cabin was decorated for Fall and was absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and delightful with a full view of the river through the front glass doors and windows. Every time I walked into the room, it felt like I was in a movie. And, if that wasn't enough; Jack brought us firewood to ensure that we had plenty for the fire pit. Every conversation with Jack was genuinely friendly and so helpful when trying to decide where to eat, etc. He was such a pleasure to talk to. We feel like old friends. We WILL be back. XXXOOO

Perfect family cabin vacation
We had a wonderful time. Jack was very helpful and welcoming. He even turned the lights on for us before our late evening arrival. The location was well equipped and beautiful, right on the river. It rained the majority of the week but the cabin was perfect for our family to relax and play games. We also took advantage of the fishing poles and fire pit. We will highly recommend to our friends and family.

Exceptional location
This was our second time staying at Riverbend cabin. The location by the river is perfect! Our family enjoyed fishing and the convenience of visiting downtown Waynesville for shopping and dining. Definitely one of our favorite vacation spots! The owners are very gracious and friendly.

Quaint Mountain Cabin
We rented this amazing quaint cabin to attend a wedding for the weekend. The cabin overlooks the river, just as it appears on the site. Awakening to the sound of the running river in the mornings was just heavenly. The cabin was very clean, had anything inside you would ever need for a stay. We had the opportunity to meet the owner of the property which was a nice personal touch. Such a great guy to talk to and he provided us with recommendations on what to see and his favorite restaurants etc. We will definitely go back to stay at Riverbend again.

Absolutely Serene
Riverbend Cabin is a beautiful and cozy cabin situated directly on the river. I was able to relax and enjoy the comforts of home while listening to the river flow outside. The entire property in which Riverbend is located is absolutely stunning.
