"What a fantastic vacation experience! Over four days and three nights, we got to try out buildings 9, 2, and 8, each with its own advantages. My personal preference, in descending order, is 2 ≥ 9 ≥ 8. First, let's talk about the courtyard room in building 2. What I loved most was waking up to lush greenery right outside my window. I could step into the courtyard in my pajamas and soak in nature. Even when it rained, there was no need to worry about not being able to go out; there were tables and chairs in the courtyard perfect for quietly watching the rain. It truly maximized that relaxed, vacation feel, ideal for unwinding and recharging. The facilities weren't old either; I found them perfectly fine. Next up is the suite in building 9. It's spacious, featuring a living room, bedroom, study, and two bathrooms. The Chinese-style decor felt grand and expansive, and the garden views from the window were also excellent. It would be very comfortable for a family. Since there were only two of us, we didn't need such a large space, which is why I personally preferred building 2, though building 9 was indeed great. Building 8 is the newest and most modern. It offers breakfast (which 2 and 9 don't), and it was quite good. The window seats in the restaurant also boasted amazing views. They even provide complimentary bedtime snacks (again, something 2 and 9 lack) and you can choose hot milk, which was a very thoughtful touch. The room quality was also higher, with Bulgari toiletries, Evian and Nongfu Spring bottled water, and better quality disposable slippers and mattresses. However, my personal priority for a resort hotel is the scenery, so building 8 ranked slightly lower for me. For those who prioritize room quality and service details, this building is definitely worth considering. The overall landscaping and service throughout the hotel grounds were excellent. Before coming, I wondered if people were exaggerating when they said you don't need to leave the hotel for a vacation, but after experiencing it, I realized it's true. Staying at the Yingbinguan is perfect for a low-energy, lazy person like me who doesn't want to wake up early for itineraries or battle crowds at tourist attractions. Beyond the hotel, everyone we encountered in Yangzhou – at attractions, restaurants, and museums – was incredibly nice. Thank you, Yangzhou, for giving us such precious travel memories. We'll definitely be back for another vacation!"

"This was my first stay at Intercity, and it exceeded my expectations. My husband and I have been checking out various hotels, from luxurious ones to cozy guesthouses, and this Yangzhou branch was by far the most comfortable and relaxing. They truly made us feel at home. Every staff member treated guests like family, which was incredibly warm. On our first day, the doorman meticulously washed our car because we had driven a long distance and there were many 'bug corpses' on the windshield. We were genuinely touched by his thoughtful gesture. Their enthusiastic service continued until we entered the elevator. Such small details were perfectly executed, which made me think that the rest of our stay would be just as good. And indeed, the breakfast was another pleasant surprise. Although the dining room was small, the dishes were exquisite and plentiful. Moreover, the service from Restaurant Supervisor Mu added another layer of excellence; honestly, there's nothing to complain about. (Also, Mao Mao from the laundry room was very patient and meticulous, and the laundry equipment was spotless, completely eliminating any concerns about hygiene). During our interactions, I learned more about Intercity's philosophy: to foster mutual respect and closeness, bridging the gap between people through the best service possible. This is truly a wonderful thing. We are very grateful for the warm service provided by every staff member at Intercity 💕. We will definitely be back 😊💕. "When I took my child to Yangzhou, I initially booked a family room, but it didn't specify that it had a sofa bed. We then realized it was completely unsuitable for sleeping. My first attempt to communicate with the front desk was met with a very unhelpful male staff member. However, after contacting Trip.com customer service, Manager Gao from the hotel quickly stepped in. Within 10 minutes, he helped us switch to a different room type and even prepared a gift for my child. He also promptly contacted his colleagues to update the details of the family room type, changing the description from 'single bed' to 'sofa bed'. This shows great responsibility, not only to us but also to future guests (as we usually avoid sofa beds when booking family rooms). A big thank you again to Manager Gao; he is both capable and efficient. Our trip to Yangzhou ended perfectly."

"Overall, the hotel is okay, but the service definitely falls short. As a Michelin one-star restaurant, Shang Palace should ensure that at least one server is within the guest's line of sight and easily callable. Restaurants in Shanghai with a similar per-person cost to a Michelin one-star offer far superior service to Shang Palace. In comparable restaurants, there's always at least one staff member nearby, and some even lower-priced establishments manage this. My side plates were never changed during the meal (even when nearly full), and dirty dishes were left untouched unless I specifically called a waiter (and even then, only some were cleared). In Shanghai, restaurants of the same caliber and price point would clear plates without being asked, why would I need to call someone? Honestly, if the staff were more attentive with changing plates and clearing dishes, I wouldn't have to call them over. I hope the hotel addresses this. I believe these are basic expectations for a Michelin one-star restaurant and those in a similar price bracket (or higher). I'm not nitpicking; just come to Shanghai and experience it for yourself. However, the food was delicious. The stir-fried shredded eel (like soft-shelled turtle) in the couple's set menu was particularly good. The front desk staff also gave off a vibe of wanting to go home. The chef at breakfast, who was making fried eggs, was incredibly slow for two days in a row (not sure if it was the same person). They insisted on finishing whatever they were doing before making my eggs, and even then, my sunny-side-up eggs were overcooked. The cleaning staff came to clean my room while I was at breakfast. Shouldn't they wait until after breakfast hours? I hadn't put away any of my belongings. I can only hope that Shangri-La staff wouldn't steal my skincare products 😔, and the room wasn't even cleaned properly... what was the rush? I've stayed at several Shangri-La properties, and this one is the worst experience so far. That said, it's not terrible, and I still recommend it. I just hope the hotel improves!"

"The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, and the place was very clean. The location is super convenient, just a couple of kilometers from the main attractions, and the boat pier is only a few hundred meters downstairs. We left some clothes in the lobby, and the staff not only found them by checking the surveillance cameras but also washed them and brought them up to our room! When we checked out, they even gave us some special nougat candy. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!"

"Let's start with the downsides: Since the family room can accommodate three adults, there should be three sets of towels, bath towels, tooth mugs, drinking glasses, and coffee cups, not just two. Even children or teenagers need their own bath towel and tooth mug. Also, the curtain button was sometimes a bit unresponsive. Now for the positives: 1. The location is excellent, making it convenient to get anywhere. You can walk to the South Gate of Slender West Lake, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. 2. The breakfast was good; while not exceptionally lavish, it had everything you'd expect. The coffee came from a machine and tasted great. 3. The terraces on four of the floors are a major highlight! Breakfast is on the 11th floor (top floor), and on a nice day, you can dine on the terrace, enjoying the lush forest view and a distant glimpse of the Qiling Pagoda while being shielded from the sun – a fantastic experience. You can also enjoy the night view in the evening. 4. The hairdryer is a Dyson, and in the lobby downstairs, there's a coffee machine, tea, hot water, and bottled water available."

"A top-rated stay! My trip to Yangzhou ended perfectly, and from the moment I checked in, I experienced incredibly thoughtful service. The lobby manager, butler, and staff made me feel right at home, offering a wonderful blend of hospitality and freedom. Located right by Slender West Lake, the hotel had everything for dining, entertainment, and relaxation. The most pleasant surprise was the metasilicic acid hot spring – its skin-rejuvenating effects were amazing and left me feeling nourished and radiant. A must-try!"

"Upon check-in, the hotel staff informed me that the room's air conditioning had been turned on in advance, a thoughtful and attentive service. The tea at the front desk was delicious. The hotel lobby was clean and tidy, the lounge area was spacious and comfortable, and the bookshelves exuded a cultured atmosphere. The room used Atour Deep Sleep pillows, which were very comfortable! The laundry room was fully equipped, perfectly meeting my laundry needs while traveling. The breakfast was plentiful, and the staff even proactively recommended some local specialties; the nutritious breakfast was quite tasty and I really enjoyed it! Located near Slender West Lake and Daming Temple, it's convenient for getting around. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Yangzhou!"

"This hotel is located right in the city center, offering excellent transportation links. It's very close to attractions like He Garden, Ge Garden, Dongguan Street, Pishi Street, and Caiyi Street. Being near Maopailou makes grabbing breakfast incredibly convenient. The rooms are clean, tidy, well-laid out, and fully equipped. The bathroom has a great wet/dry separation and no unpleasant smells, and the AC works perfectly. The owner is super friendly and helpful, sending a detailed Yangzhou food and drink guide via WeChat. This guide is comprehensive, covering transportation, distances to attractions, and even categorizes restaurants with map locations, making it very practical. Overall, it was an excellent stay, and I highly recommend it!"

"We switched from a hotel near the Grand Canal to this one, a classic five-star establishment. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome, truly setting a vacation mood. The concierge service was outstanding. The hotel's location is absolutely perfect for a trip to Yangzhou; it feels like Daming Temple, Slender West Lake, morning tea, the Ancient City Park, and Yangzhou Banquet are all part of the hotel's amenities. The best part? Soaking in the hot springs after a long day of sightseeing is the most anticipated moment of the trip. We loved it so much that we immediately extended our stay for another night. Highly recommended! For a family of three, getting this level of service, scenery, and amenities for just 200 per person is truly excellent value. It's definitely our top choice for visiting Yangzhou with kids."
