Omni Severin Hotel

We always enjoy our time at the Omni Severin when we come to Colts game every year. This year we also celebrated a birthday and was treated extra special. The rooms are especially nice since the renovation. The best part is the amazing staff who are so helpful and friendly. The guys in the lobby are so welcoming and we always look forward to seeing Freddy Mac . The location is convenient to the stadium and many good restaurants.

We have stayed here in an ADA roll in shower room several times for Gen Con. The rooms were usable enough and the location is great. But, they remodeled all the rooms last year and the room we've always had is just amazing now for wheelchair use Unlike most hotels, especially older ones, the room and bathroom are spacious. The roll in shower used to be very tight and awkward to maneuver in tucked in next to the commode. Now, it's on the opposite wall and is a full on open shower with reachable controls and a flip down wooden bench. I was able to transfer to and from the bench and skip using my rolling shower chair we always bring. The sink and counter is open with lots of knee space, easy controls, and low towel shelves. But, the real jewel of the room is the bed, or beds in ours. Each bed is now only about 24 inches high and includes an open 6inch or so gap underneath each. Most hotel beds are 4 to 6 inches higher so they're too high to transfer in from a wheelchair, etc. And they usually have no gap below so a lift cannot get under it. We usually have to bring our own blocks and hotel engineering has to take the bed off the frame and put onto our blocks so we can use my lift. NO MORE! My lift slides right under these beds. But, at 24 inches, we just did not use it and my wife spotted me as I slid onto the bed. Between the new beds and remodeled bathroom, we can leave the lift and chair at home next time we stay and really ease our packing. I was nearly in tears. If you don't deal with inaccessible hotel rooms, you really have no idea what it's like to feel independent in a good one. Other hotels should copy this one for ADA users and market the daylights out of it. Staff note: the staff is always amazing at this Omni especially the valets and "bellhops" assisting with luggage. We see the guys every year and they always remember us. Just so helpful. And special shout out to the desk staff especially Janka who helped me with all my questions on the remodeled rooms and sent me measurements and info ahead of time. The staff noticed our special room requests from the past and reached out to let me know of room changes and answer my queries. Really, above and beyond. Tip: join the Omni Members club thing so you get the free drink vouchers. We got iced teas daily but you can get beer, wine, coffee, etc.

Staff was wonderful, and none of the issues were their fault. This isn't the hotel's fault, but downtown Indy is very unpleasant right now. Construction everywhere. Unable to walk where you need to go without terrible noise and detours around fenced off and blocked areas. Had to walk inbetween dumpsters and through sketchy, smelly areas to get to the convention center and stadium. The skywalk was the main reason I booked this hotel, because we were in town for a big event at the stadium and convention center. It is not noted on the listing that the skywalk is closed for construction. The windows have zero noise protection, was woken up all through the night and early morning by car alarms, sirens, garbage trucks and construction. (All between the hours of 10:00 pm and 8:00 am) The WiFi situation was awful. Beware- make sure you aren't charged hundreds of dollars for shoddy WiFi before you check out. Had to request a different room when we first got there. First room had a king sized bed, and barely enough room for a toilet and shower. Tiny, tiny room for the price. (Not what was listed when | booked.). Staff was great, accommodating. Got us a room big enough for two people to at least have a place to store our suitcases. Still very small. Hotel was clean, staff was wonderful. But I would not stay here again.

It was my first time staying in Omni hotel; I had a very pleasant experience, the room was very comfortable and clean; the FD was courteous and friendly, housekeeping was nice and serviceable and the staff at the restaurant were polite and helpful with my food order.

This hotel is beautiful. We were lucky enough to get an upgrade (not sure how, but super grateful because our room was huge and the view was stunning.) The staff was all super polite, and we just loved everything about it. When we arrived, we had a little welcome gift waiting for us, which was a wonderful touch. The valet service was also super helpful. We will definitely be back!
