Excellent staff.. had a evening meal food was very tasty ... room was very nicely decorated with a comfy bed .. had a cooked breakfast then got talking to the owners before we left ... couldn't do enough for us

Comfortable 1 night stay - But— A warm welcome and quick check in.The entrance to the Pub and stairway would benefit from a redecoration.Bed was comfortable and linen felt fresh and clean. The room has been decorated in recent times but it does need a deeper clean of skirtings and behind furniture.The en suite fittings were clean but similar attention needed. Breakfast was fine with limited choice that had to be selected the evening before and served between 8-9 am. Checkout 9:30 . I appreciate that it seems as a family run pub with rooms in this location it’s a struggle to keep up with the overheads and maintenance. However the many good reviews indicate that customers are happy with the overall experience. The pub areas have a pleasant atmosphere with wood burners , In one of the lounge areas the owners are tackling ceiling damage but there is plenty of seating in both bars. Parking was easy. The cost was reasonable for the area .

Great accomodation Brilliant. Everyone was really friendly. Food was lovely.

Absolutely rinsing you for drinks and food. Paid £18.75 for a small piece of fried chicken on a dry bun with fries. I’ve paid this before and had much better elsewhere. £7 a pint (London prices). You will get a nicer microwave meal, don’t bother.

An OK Stay Overall, it was OK. Staff were nice, breakfast was lovely. Beds were uncomfortable. General noise from other rooms and the bar downstairs could be heard very easily. Would not stay there again. Picture is of the top of the chest of drawers which housed the TV and the tray with kettle, cups and tea & coffee.

Needs some work The Troutbeck Inn staff were delightful but, unfortunately, there were some issues. My bedroom had an electric heater, which wasn't plugged in... when I plugged it in, it didn't work and the room was very cold. Likewise, there was no heating in the bathroom! I cannot understand why some hotels put mirrors with protruding shelves above bathroom sinks ; it was literally impossible to wash my face without getting water everywhere. Paint is not that expensive, the whole place was badly in need to a paint job, bare wood showing through the paint on the front door is not a good start for guests arriving.
