Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

Meticulous housekeeping and check in. Plenty of nooks and tables throughout the complex to spend time socializing with friends or relaxing/working quietly. Indoor pool and beautiful outdoor pool with opportunities to sit in the shade if you prefer. Firepit outside the bar area great for a few drinks with friends. Rooms were nice. Bedding is polyester comforters and soft polyfill pillows - 6 for a king bed. We did not eat in the restaurants, except the Starbucks. We did go to the bar one weekday evening around 8pm. There were 2 people working behind the bar and a couple eating dinner at the bar. There was a line of people waiting at the bar to order drinks to apparently take to the lobby or outside. We sat at a table but no one came to take our order so I got in line at the bar. The woman took and filled orders but the man seemed to be familiarizing himself with the menu or something else rather than interacting with customers. I was third in line but somehow I was 5th to order: Tangueray and tonic, and a Manhattan. Both were served in small cocktail glasses, and the gin was about 90% of the T&T, with the small unsqueezed lime on top: it was ghastly. Had to ask for a tall glass with tonic so we could mix it. My Manhattan was not good. It did have a cherry tossed in, and lots of ice - maybe no sweet vermouth or angostura bitters? Tasted like pure rye whiskey. It did have a cocktail cherry. We did not end up finishing our cocktails which was a disappointment. All in all, a well-planned hotel with visually lovely faclities. Great place for a businss convention.

The employees were very nice! My check in and out experience was wonderful. The hotel grounds are beautiful. My room was very clean and I loved that a mini fridge and microwave were in the room. I did not have time to use the pool areas but loved how there is an outdoor and indoor pool option. The beds were so comfortable and shower pressure good. Ample parking options! Plus the hotel is an easy ten mins from Cedar Point. I will back when visiting the area.

We arrived at Sawmill Creek expecting a relaxing getaway, but were immediately met with large groups of unsupervised pre-teens roaming the property. While I understand the responsibility lies primarily with their parents or coaches, it was disheartening to see the resort staff make no effort to address the constant noise and disruptive behavior, which persisted throughout the day and night. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to enjoy the amenities we were most looking forward to—the pool, the restaurant, the fitness center, and even walks through the hallways were anything but peaceful. Despite promoting itself as a destination for rest and relaxation, the environment was more reminiscent of a chaotic water park than a serene retreat. Sleeping was difficult due to the late night noise levels. Sawmill Creek highlights its golf course, marina, and poolside bar—features we assumed would cater more to adults. However, the atmosphere felt overwhelmingly geared toward large youth groups attending events at the nearby Cedar Point sports complex. We were there to celebrate my parents' 40th wedding anniversary, revisiting the resort where they honeymooned. Sadly, our experience didn’t reflect the charm or tranquility they once enjoyed. If the resort intends to cater primarily to families attending sports events, it would be helpful for them to market it accordingly so guests seeking a quiet, adult-oriented stay can make more informed decisions.

HIGHLY recommend Sawmill Creek! Resort is beautiful, staff is so friendly and helpful, rooms are super clean and comfortable. Miller's Table food and service were too notch. Plus early entry to Cedar Point is included! Don't miss out on this gem...

Lovely resort! Beautiful spaces in the lobby area, looked like a nice indoor pool (and there's an outdoor one when in season, too). Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean when I arrived. Loved that the restaurant was still open (Miller's Table)--and what a great meal (Braised Short Rib was DELICIOUS!) Service there was outstanding, too. I stayed here based on a recommendation from a colleague---so glad I listened to him. I'll definitely come back to Sawmill Creek if I have an overnight or extended stay for work in the future.

We stayed here for two nights for a nearby wedding. They had great places to gather in the lobby to talk and chat. The rooms were great and had lots of space for us. In the morning we went to the buffet and they had great food. The food was very good and if you stay here I highly recommend it. The pool was also great for families. They had both a hot tub and a quiet big pool.
