Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

Convenient location, friendly staff.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Sawmill Creek! We spent a short 2-night stay at the property in July of 2025. We actually did not go to the park and were here solely to enjoy the resort. It did not disappoint! We were here for a multi-generational family trip with several rooms booked. Each room in our party was spotlessly clean and updated with modern decor and fantastic modern bathrooms. Were it not for the in-room jacuzzi that was a little beat up, this would pass as a brand new property. The common and outdoor areas were absolutely gorgeous with several cozy common seating areas which we used to relax and catch up with family. The resort style indoor and outdoor pools were great ... Perhaps some of the nicest hotel pools I've ever seen at a non-Disney property. We especially loved how the outdoor pool has several of these little built in side areas with seating to relax in. The on-site restaurants were all great although understaffed. The pool bar was particularly understaffed and I felt bad for the bartender who was completely overrun and needed help. Millers Table was similarly understaffed and we noticed that our one waitress was serving pretty much half of the restaurant. I get that staffing issues can be a problem everywhere these days, but it seemed to be a real issue here and surprising given the resources Cedar Point has. The overall vibe of the property gives off a National Parks Lodge feel. My family and I are huge Disney World people and kept comparing it to the Wilderness Lodge. For any fellow Ohioans who know what I'm talking about, it also felt very much like one of the nicer Ohio State Parks lodges and was very similar (and even better!) to the new Hocking Hills Lodge (which is a very very good thing). My one complaint is that the resort is being used for groups in town for sports tournaments. No, I am not complaining about there being kids at a Cedar Point property ... My group included kids. These sports team kids however were running around like absolute ******* unsupervised and diminished my own kids experience as it was hard to enjoy the pools when we had 30 rowdy little leaguers doing cannonballs in our personal space with no concern for the safety of small children and elderly people. The lack of supervision was clearly their parents / chaperones issue, but I was a little surprised to see Cedar Point utilizing their most upscale resort for sports teams. Isn't that what the Breakers Express or whatever it's called now for? My suggestion (outside of not having sports groups stay at this property) is that they implement a quiet hour at the pool for families with smaller kids, or kids with sensory issues. The rowdiness of the baseball teams continued all night and we had issues sleeping as a few times kids were running up and down the halls knocking on doors and running away. Very nice resort! Everything was clean and staff was helpful. I was here for a conference. A few thoughts: 1) My room was big but the bathroom seemed small compared to the size of the room (king bed). There was enough room for a couch or larger comfy chair. (There was an office chair and a one-person soft chair.) Not a big deal but just some thoughts. 2) My room was quite stuffy. I could not seem to get the temperature right and the thermostat didn’t seem to stay on the settings I put it at. The fan was on constantly and it was loud. 3) I couldn’t hear noises next door but noises from the hallway were very loud! The doors slam shut and I could hear them slamming at all hours. It was really annoying. 4) The rooms were really far away from the conference area. Many of us at the conference commented how long it took to walk between our rooms and the conference. I didn’t mind, but it could be difficult for people that have limited mobility or move slowly. 5) The conference food was delicious! I didn’t try food at any of the restaurants. 6) The outside pool area was very pretty, I wish I had time to use it. I didn’t see the indoor pool. Despite the few things I mentioned that I didn’t like, those were minor and I would stay here again. The grounds and nearby golf course are beautiful and the building itself is too. I heard excellent things about their staff when planning the conference too. Right next door to Sheldon Marsh for birding or walking.

Such a great find! Loved the peace and quiet, all the amenities - pools were so clean, outdoor pool just the right temperature - hot tub inside was the warmest, and both hot tubs were very clean. The room was so comfortable - very clean - loved that the bathroom had a magnify mirror for makeup! The grounds were so nicely kept. The food at the Miller's Table was very good - Kudos to Laura our server as she went above and beyond to make sure we were attended to and drinks and food came out very quickly. Kudos to Will, at the front desk, who was very accommodating - kind and service with a smile! We will return there again and again as we pass through headed north. Oh, and great views from the exercise room - again, extra clean.

Great place. Wonderful food not to forget the terrific breakfast buffet and friendly staff. Beautiful outdoor and indoor pools. The only drawback was no coffee makers in room. But the grounds are relaxing and coffee and snacks can be had in their little store. Although we didn’t golf, the course is right there at your service.

The customer service was horrible and unacceptable. I would not consider staying there ever again due to the front desk staff.
