A decent accommodation for a short stay. The place even provides a mini kitchen space which was not initially advertised but was a plus! Customer service was extremely helpful in terms of confirming the booking and figuring out how the shower works - apparently you have to pull a “lever” to turn on the shower, running water does not immediately come out of the shower as expected. Besides that minor hiccup, super easy to travel from this place given that the Huddersfield Bus Station is less than 10 mins and is reliable and is directly opposite the University of Huddersfield which makes it feel safe for a solo female traveller. Check-in and checkout was easy given that you will have to refer to the email sent on the digital lock passcode for the building entrance and the room. There isn’t a reception or customer service desk - more of an Air BNB concept.

Even though room was ok, the process was more like AirBnB rather than Hotel which was the impression that was given to me when booking. After a 4 hour train journey from London I expected a hotel reception interfacing with real person rather than a coded door with PIN not working. In the end I had to ring Trip advisor to sort out issue and missed the start of the party I was commissioned to film from 4pm as I reached there until after 5pm😢 Lesson learned from this is to research Hotel in more detail to prevent any further repeats.

This place was quite convenient for being in the edge of town but it is right on the ring road with the noise that brings. To get to it you go up some pokey stairs. The room was ok, certainly not deluxe by any stretch. Hot water didn’t work from the sinks but at least there was hot water in the shower. The decor was poor, particularly the bathroom, where no effort had been made to sand down surfaces prior to painting. Also the lino had a lump in it and the sash window above the kitchen sink had a broken handle making it extremely difficult to open. This was a problem as there was no aircon or even a fan to get some air moving so the room was hot! A kitchen unit had a handle hanging down and thrrr was no cupboard or sideboard to put anything - had to use the ironing board as a shelf. Finally the small coffee table was really wobbly - had a look and none of the screws had been tightened up. All in all tolerable if you just need a bed for the night. Oh I forgot, they sent me the wrong code for the bedroom door on ******* so I was struggling to get in and they didn’t answer their phone or messages. However, bizarrely I noticed that a previous message on whatsapp did have the correct code! Also there is a £100 refundable deposit you need to pay - although difficult to see what you could damage for that in that place.
