When making the reservation, I explained this was a special visit and I wanted things to be “nice”.. (and willing to to pay for better room etc) 1. Asked for 3rd floor, and was told they couldn’t guarantee but would try. We were assigned a 2nd floor room, which was disappointing but not a problem, except that it was pretty run down. The screened balcony had tears in the screen so we were fighting wasps and bugs. The toilet had large black scuff marks all over it. The tile floor had cracks and missing pieces. The bathroom had no soap, the shampoo bottle in the shower was broken so we couldn’t even use that . 2. I requested Champagne to be in room upon arrival; it was not there! I had to call to remind them to bring it. 3. I attempted to write a note to housekeeping telling that there was no shower soap and the shampoo pump bottle didn’t work, there was no pen/paper in the room to leave a note. I had to tear my husband’s anniversary card envelope to leave the note. 4. When I ran down the housekeeper to ask for water ( which was supposed to be provided) I was looked at like I was requesting the biggest problem in the world. 5. When housekeeping came to “clean“ our room, they didn’t vacuum the floor. They did supply shower soap, but left their dirty shoe prints in the tub, and the broken part of the shampoo bottle on the counter of the sink, but didn’t clean out the sink. 6. Golf was good, the Spa was good. The exterior grounds were really nice. 7. At dinner, my steak wasn’t cooked properly and had to be sent back. But we were given free desert for the trouble, which was good. 8. When checking out, I wasn’t asked about the stay, as if they either knew it wasn’t up to standards or just didn’t care. 9. And just to top off the weekend, we stopped at the pro shop on the way out to get my husband a shirt he wanted, and they didn’t have his size. 10. I honesty have gotten nicer/ cleaner rooms with nicer service at Holiday Inn. For the amount of money spent and all the up front discussions with staff explaining I was looking to make this a very special weekend, this was a big disappointment. I wish they had just said they couldn’t accommodate a special occasion.

Place was clean, bar was very nice. Room was very clean and comfortable
