JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria

Aging hotel. Great location. Garage cost is outrageously high. $25 food/beverage daily is a nice perk.

Summary: I have stayed at this hotel for multiple weeks in the past two months. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The location is walking distance to the Galleria, which has great restaurants and shopping if you have time. I have stayed at the JW Marriott at the Galleria for 5 out of the past 7 weeks and will be staying there next week, as well. I have been in Houston for business and the team at the JW have made the extended time away from home significantly more enjoyable by making the hotel a home away from home. The folks at the front desk recognize me and my coworkers when we show up on Monday, the staff at the restaurant know our orders for breakfast and bring us our cappuccinos without us having to ask, the valet staff is friendly and recognizes us, as well. There are several hotels in the Galleria area to choose from and after trying a few, it was the friendliness of the staff right away combined with the comfortable rooms and convenient location that has led us to choose the JW as our go-to hotel in Houston. A big thank you to Kendall and Jasminely at the front desk who have been so pleasant and helpful. Kendall helped me with a few issues I had this week and took great care of me in helping with my reservation for next week.
