Embassy Suites by Hilton Raleigh Crabtree

Great location and very friendly service. The hotel is clean, but the facilities are quite dated and could really use some modernization.

Paula was absolutely amazing during the evening reception! The drink she made was exceptional—perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Even more impressive was her warm, welcoming personality, which made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. Truly outstanding service from start to finish!

It’s 2025 and this supposedly mid-upmarket Hilton property had 2 USB ports in the living room - with the one on the dining table without any innards and the one on the lamp table next to the sofa not outputting any power. The two USB outlets in the bedroom only worked if the nightstand lights were on, making it impossible to recharge your devices while sleeping (unless you like to sleep with the light on). There were no separate temperature controls for the two different rooms like I had at the Hampton I stayed at the previous night. Breakfast closed too early: at only 9am. I got there in just the nick of time, but they closed the door to the buffet at 9 and I wasn’t even able to get a refill of my orange juice. Most hotel breakfast buffets run to 10 am. Other than the above it was acceptable.

This hotel was giving low budget motel 6 vibrations!! I was not greeted by the front desk clerk but was definitely greeted by two different bugs in my room!! I thought that I booked the Embassy Suites in Brier Creek, but instead booked this place. I was in town due to having a surgery consult at Duke Hospital and was very exhausted. I encountered this strange smell when I walked in, a cross between the smell of old mop water and an over chlorinated pool. I stood at the front desk, and the clerk didn't greet me nor acknowledge me. When he finally looked up, he wasn't smiling and seemed frustrated. I wrote the interaction off as him being just as tired as I was. Strike 1. I went up to my room and wasn't impressed. I heard nothing but wonderful things about embassy suites and felt as if I was in the wrong hotel. As I walked past the thermostat, I saw a small bug on the wall!! I killed it with my key card and cautiously walked into the bedroom. I stopped immediately in my tracks when I saw a bug on the curtain!!! I snapped a picture of it and bolted downstairs. I told the clerk that I wanted my money and Hilton Honors points returned. He stated that he could return my points immediately (I've yet to receive them back), but my money would be returned based on how fast my bank released the funds (ok no worries). I showed him the pictures of the bugs, and his response was "Ohhh we need to get the exterminator out." No apology..... NOTHING. As I walked to my car, I was greeted by a swarm of cockroaches crawling all over the parking lot!! By this time, my blood pressure was through the roof!!! As I sat in my car trying to find a new hotel (it was almost midnight by this time), I saw some shady activities!!! I am very thankful that my kids weren't with me. Families beware!!! I drove 30 minutes back to Durham and stayed in a hotel that epitomizes the true expectation of a Hilton hotel!!! I reached out to customer service, and 5 days later, I have yet to hear back from management. At this point, I don't want to speak to the "manager" but a district manager. So beware and stay somewhere else unless you like bugs!!
