Property Description
Three years are of particular importance in our calendar. 1215, 1873 and 2017. Of course first and foremost 1215 - the year the first Dragsholm was built by Roskilde's bishop Peder Sunesen, who owned most of Odsherred. Although Dragsholm Castle has been solidly and well in its place, it is truly something of a journey the castle has been on through the 800 years. First the bishop's palace and the center of a mighty farm, then his fortified castle and later - after the Count's Feud and the Reformation in the 16th century - royal palace. Since magnificent residence and barony for a huge noble family and then summer boarding house to finally today function as a hotel and restaurant.

Charming Stay at Dragsholm Slot – A Highlight of Our Trip We stayed at Dragsholm Slot on August 26 as two couples traveling together and booked two rooms. Both rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated, and featured private terraces overlooking the beautiful castle grounds. The setting was peaceful and picturesque—perfect for a relaxing getaway. We had hoped to dine at the Michelin-starred restaurant, but it was closed on Saturdays in July. That said, the Bistro was a wonderful alternative. We chose the tasting menu with wine pairings and were absolutely delighted. Christian, the sommelier and our server for the evening, was outstanding—knowledgeable, attentive, and warm. His wine pairings were spot-on, enhancing every course and making the meal truly special. While we didn’t get the Michelin-star experience this time, the quality of food and service at the Bistro made it a perfect evening regardless. Dragsholm Slot is a unique and charming destination—we wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Have visited Dragsholm 6 times - this time everything (except the restaurant) sadly crashed. Poor and amateurish staff, they knew nothing about breakfast place, gave wrongly information making us leave the place without breakfast. Yep, laugh, but remember, it is a place making great expectation to their service that they cannot comply. In other words: Go and dine - but do NOT stay at the hotel/castle. You get fooled.

Stunning setting for this castle on a moat. We were delighted with our large comfortable room in the castle up on the 2nd floor with a fabulous view across the grounds, gardens and moat. Dinner at the Michelin restaurant was beautifully presented and served, and breakfast was especially excellent and thoughtful.Staff were kind and helpful and always gracious. The gardens were delightful, even in the pouring rain. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Going back in time, but in a very good way. We dined at the Bistro restaurant which is inside the catle, the food and it's presentation gets a high mark from us.

A really nice spot for dinner but the stay wasn’t very comfortable. The rooms had paper thin walls & we could hear everything from our neighbour. The room was very hot & stuffy & if you opened the windows you’d get eaten alive by mosquitoes. Eat here but stay elsewhere!

We enjoyed our time in Dragsholm slot! For older peoples it is quite difficult to come to the castle by feet, parking place is far and also the breakfast room. Breakfast was wonderful !

Beautifully manicured property. Very inviting to just wander aimlessly. The nature sights and sounds were unmatched. The food was “forced” because the choices were out of the norm and i with digestion issues, having a selection of foods that may be better compatible with my stomach would have been nice. The walls were PAPER thin and sleep was regrettably non existent as our next door neighbors were up late and early and VERY rude. Having a room between guests would have been nicer I suspect. The staff was wonderfully kind and very knowledgeable.
