Called in for food & drinks, great location, excellent food & very friendly staff. Hamish was an excellent host very friendly & service was great. There is lots of space both inside & outside & views are fabulous overlooking the sea. Husband said his Thai curry was one of the best he has ever had & we will definitely return when we are in the area again.

We had a lovely stay by the sea. We stayed for 3 nights in a spacious room on the first floor with view of the sea and beach. We could lie in bed and hear the waves lapping on the shore. We had a comfy bed, superb shower, delicious breakfast and the staff were all friendly and helpful. What’s not to like? 10/10 Great walks from here along the coastal path in both directions.

Really wasn’t sure what to expect. However we arrived at a beautiful cove with the Hope and Anchor right next to the beach. We were given a really warm welcome and a room upgrade. Our bedroom was very spacious with a king size bed, which was extremely comfortable and the room overlooked the sea. The en-suite again very spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast the next morning was a combination of help yourself to cereals, fruit and yogurt and croissants and a wide variety of cooked breakfast items off the menu. Something for everyone. We stayed 2 nights and ate our evening meal on both nights at the Hope and Anchor. Staff were excellent and we really enjoyed our stay.

Pub with lots of character and in a lovely setting. Great location to enjoy coastal walks. It is an old creaky pub so with all that character dont expect the best quality sleep as you hear other guests moving around. Good breakfast but better if they offered fresh fruit. Pub dinner menu had no fresh fish which was disappointing considering the location. All in all a nice place but not cheap.

We have stayed at the Hope & Anchor each year since it's refurbishment and have enjoyed each visit. One of the things that we always looked forward to and enjoyed was the food. However on this latest visit we were disappointed at the cutbacks that have been made since our previous stays. The evening dinner menu is now very limited and basic in choice, but most disappointing was the breakfast buffet, gone were the cold meats, cheeses, fruits & yogurt, etc which we were told were now not available. They seem now to be catering more for walk in guest diners rather than residents.

I enjoyed everything about my visit. The pub itself is beautifully designed and my room was charming with immaculate views. At breakfast I met Natalie who was so friendly and cheerful that I did not worry I was a solo traveller. I met Jesse too who was also welcoming and I felt very relaxed in their company. Breakfast was delicious however I would have liked the option of fresh fruit. There were many personal little touches from housekeeping which complemented the experience. A beautiful stay and I would definitely visit again ❤️

Great location, by the beach and on the SW Coastal Path. Super large family room, with bunk bed room and well equipped kitchenette. Huge very comfortable bed. Had a great meal outside on the decking and watched sunset. Perfect, just sad we were only there for one night.

Great location and room was fabulous. Right on the southwest coastal path too. Bar area good and food/breakfast v good too Staff are extremely friendly, we had 2 dogs with us and they had a doggie treat bag too. In the immediate vicinity is a small shop, as well as another eatery next door, which has 2 sections, one pizza and a bar, plus another restaurant too.

What a fabulous place! The location was stunning overlooking the cove, we were met with a warm & friendly welcome, our room was comfortable with great views. Food was excellent and staff were lovely. We were treated to the most spectacular sunsets on our visit. Would recommend a stay here.
