I accidentally discovered Va Riverside Retreat, and it turned out to be a hidden haven along the peaceful Huong River. The scenery here is simply serene—watching the golden sunset reflected on the water and waking up to the sound of birds at dawn felt like stepping into another world. Besides relaxing in the refreshing pool, I also had the chance to try paddle boarding on the river. One of the most unique moments was listening to the mystical melodies of the Hầu Đồng ceremonies drifting across from Hon Chen Temple—a truly authentic touch of Vietnamese culture. The local breakfast was delicious, simple yet full of flavor, and made the mornings even more memorable. What stood out the most was the staff—they welcomed me like family, making me feel at home even though I was far away from mine.
If you’re looking for more than just a stay, but an experience that touches both your senses and soul, I highly recommend coming here. Discover it as I did, and perhaps you’ll enjoy it even more than I did.

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay! Everyone was incredibly kind (even teaching us local games!), the rooms and the hotel is general were very clean and pretty and the breakfast was delicious. I found the location quite convenient as well, 10 to 15min car ride from the major attractions, while also being very quite and calm. We didn't have any problems calling a grab from there, but if you're unsure about the address of the place you want to visit, they will help book a taxi for you. It was one of the best cities and stays that we had in Vietnam and I hope to came back again someday :)

AArcherName774The location is a bit remote from the main streets, but it is within a 10 minute motorcycle ride. It is truly a homestay, there is an auntie who lives there full time, who is relatively friendly. It is shown in the pictures, but I didn't notice that the bed doesn't have a proper frame, it basically lies on the floor on a wooden pallet, but the mattress is decent. The room has lots of electronic devices, such as a dehydrator and an insect killer. The TV is huge. The bathroom experience is also good. The huge issue I had, that made my experience poor is a curtain, that doesn't properly close the window, so it's possible to clearly see the room from the yard. The management provided a makeshift half-solution, and assured me they will fix it in future, but I share my experience. There are some other small issues that should be fixed, but after they complete I think guests should have a good stay.

MMarinaThe hotel is very nice And the staff were the best I had in Vietnam. Although the location was around 3.5 km from the night walking and food street of Chu Van An, it was a beautiful, relaxing and quiet place with assisted bike for rent. For me it was very pleasant to reach all the destinations (Empirical city, two mausoleums and the pleasant border of the Parfum River) on a bike. I ordered vegetarian breakfast and the hotel provided me great, fresh and Vietnamese food. The room and the bed were awesome (clean, new and stylish) for relaxing after three very intense days. I especially thank My that took very good care of me, and also Trang for her helpful and kind interaction. I loved it!

MMegan JaneWe loved staying at Lumiere. Very modern and they were wonderful when we realised we had left our passports in the house after we had checked out. Very helpful. One downside was the pin numbers to get into each bedroom. We had to leave the doors ajar so that we could get into our children's room at night.
Also the house didn't have very hot water so the big beautiful bath wasn't as lovely and warm as I could have been.
The master bedroom was so luxurious.
Overall we loved our time here. Will be back if we visit Hue again!

GGuest UserIt is on the second floor of a private house. The room was wider and cleaner than I expected for a homestay. It was close to the castle and I could see the night view and walk to the accommodation in about 15 minutes. There are also many restaurants nearby.

GGuest UserThe room is fine for a very short stay. However, the room I received wasn't quite the same as the one shown in the pictures. Mine didn't have a window facing outside—instead, it looked out into the hallway. The bathroom also had an unpleasant smell, likely due to drainage and ventilation issues, so it's best to keep the door closed.

GGuest Userstaff very caring and attentive, and since the hostel is man-sized like an home actually, everything is way easier. i highly recommend if you want to have a pleasant stay in Hué. The only negative point that i would bring up is that there is only one bathroom for a dorm of 8 beds so the wait could be long sometimes.

GGuest UserI'm not sure if staying at this hotel is the best accommodation experience of my life. Although there's no breakfast, a little snack and courtesy are invaluable. It truly embodies the designer's aesthetic, user experience, hotel selection, and feng shui. The shadows cast by the rising and setting light in the east and west are intertwined. The courtyard isn't planted with elegant beauties, but rather seasonal fruit. The aroma of grapefruit complements the turquoise water of the pool, bathed in sunlight. The north-south transparency captures the rural charm of Hue City as naturally as possible.
