Amrâth Hotel Media Park Hilversum

We had a Great night stay, good breakfast possible until 11 on Saturday, friendly service. Beds are comfortable. Well situated.

The hotel is very conveniently located close to the city centre and train station making it a good place for easy connections to Amsterdam, Utrecht and other places. Yet the area surrounding the hotel is very quiet. In Hilversum itself the architectural masterpiece that is the Town Hall is close by, and is well worth a tour. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

Pre booked a single bedroom apartment and was given the option to upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment for and extra fee which i did as it was myself and a friend staying. On arrival at lunch time there was no option for an early check in and were told to come back at 3pm. Came back at 2.55 and was told it would be another half an hour before we could enter our room as it still was not clean. We were then told we could not drive to our apartment that it was a 5 to 10 minute walk down the road. Not the best thing with suitcases, carry bags and bags of groceries. On arrival to the apartment 40 minutes later it was an old run down building. The apartment was up 6 flights of stairs with no lift after carrying all our luggage and groceries up the 6 flights of stair the cleaners had just left the room. The room we arrived to was damp and smelled of overpowering bleach and bathroom cleaners. We then realised we did not get the TWO BEDROOM APARTMENT that was booked and paid for. It was a single box room with 2 single beds pushed together. Not ideal for two grown men. I then had to make the journey back to the main hotel to complain and was told it was a miss community that TWO BEDROOM APARTMENT actually meant two person. I asked for a refund and had to find new accommodation immediately. Which luckily i did on such short notice. I was then told that the refund was processed and i would revieve it within 1 hour. 4 days later i recieved my refund back after spending 560 euro of my holiday spending money on new accommodation. This place should be avoided at all costs

Very nice small hotel close to the shop etc.. Friendly staff and nice breakfast well worth the money
