Food was lovely , clean well kept rooms not so great on checkout when the receptionist did not recognise trip . Com and advised we hadn’t paid despite us showing her confirmation of pre payment

Booked a cosy double, room 102 overlooking the rear of hotel was comfortable, Roman blind does let light in if you are a light sleeper. shower cubicle very cosy but manageable. Breakfast cooked to order was tasty.

The hotel was very quiet and clean and Breakfast was excellent and great value, Service was over and above as the restaurant served our breakfast after the time as we did the local Parc run

Lovely hotel, very comfortable bed & good shower. Staff were welcoming & helpful. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. We also ate here at night .. very good & reasonable. The only slight downside WiFi was intermittent. It’s a nice setting & would be nice to sit outside in Summer

Was looking for accommodation near to Durham and found this - and being offered a good deal I had to say yes (Superior Double). Very conveniently located just outside Durham, plenty of parking and lovely setting/building. Room was pleasant, although could do with a touch-up in places (for example, round the windows). Tea and coffee available in the room. Bathroom was very nice and shower gel with lovely towels provided. Restaurant looked nice (although I dined elsewhere). Small bar adjacent to the restaurant, but there is also a pub right next door to the hotel which was nice. Showing sport at the time. Had minimal staff covering the various areas of the hotel, but a press of the bell and they would soon attend. The hotel does seem to do events, so maybe busy/loud during these times, but was ever so peaceful during my stay. Recommended (much nicer option compared to similar priced alternative I was offered).

My husband and I would like to thank Rachel for helping us to plan our Golden Wedding celebration, which took place in the beautiful Garden Room. Over the years we have celebrated christenings and birthdays in this hotel, with its spacious grounds, which are ideal for gatherings where children will be attending. Lovely hotel unfortunately ruined sleep and lack of staff experience. Check in was a little hit and miss and waited 10 minutes before some arrives at front desk. Room was lovely and obviously refurbished. Drinks lounge downstairs nice and quiet. Second night was unfortunately not great. Room for as just above venue 61 where a 21st birthday party was being held. Venue doors were left opened to gardens and just below our room. Loud music with heavy base played so was impossible to get to sleep until 11.30. The next problem was the next 2 hours of drunk guests going to rooms and banging on doors and shouting in the corridors. Breakfast next day was great and staff did listen to our complaint but not much else was done. Would have considered staying again as will be in area a few times a year but will look at other hotels.
