I am a Platinum military member with Wyndham. I booked my child's rooms from college to home, using the massive amount of points I've Earned staying at Wyndham hotels in the past year due to my 9 year old's complex medical care. I did not expect to be treated poorly by the staff at both the hotel and Wyndham customer service tonight. I clearly booked a room at this hotel via the Wyndham app, putting my child's name in the guest name area of the booking and have proof of it. My kid is driving across country to get home from college for the summer. My kid has chronic health issues and was exhausted when arriving to this hotel. The desk clerk was rude to her and refused to allow her to check in. I called both Wyndham and the hotel directly and was told by the customer service rep who was obviously in a call center in another country and the desk clerk that they could do nothing and that I could not even book and pay for a room on the phone! The man at the hotel was so condescending that I ended up hanging up on him after he refused to stop talking long enough for me to say anything. I will be contacting Wyndham again tomorrow. Luckily, the next hotel on the trip has confirmed that the reservation will not be a problem. This just proves that the guy at this particular hotel was being difficult for no reason whatsoever. I booked a room for my kid across the street at the Comfort Inn.
