Ensana Thermal Hévíz

The best: -Very clean and quiet rooms. -Very fluffy bathrobes, and one spa towel and spa undertowel. -Enough parking lots. -All thermal and treatment places are very close to each other and totally barrier-free. -Helpful, patient and nice staff - all of them, from the receptionists to the first-aid paramedics to the housekeeping ladies. -Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, table and chairs in the balcony are a plus. --Fresh, well-cooked, savoury, mostly Hungarian food, not too much variety but everything was very tasty and easy to digest (a plus for ailing guests). We enjoyed especially the goulash, the fish stews, the "bivaly" (oxen) slices, the beefsteak tartar, and the hot Hungarian desserts (the hot curd cheese pastry with berry sauce was wonderful, for instance!). -The outdoor heated pool with jacuzzi and bubbly "hotspots" is fantastic and big enough to accommodate a few dozen guests at a time. -Pets are welcome, a big plus for many elderly patients who can't bear to be separated from them. Can be improved: -Zero bottled water in the room (c'mon, this is an intensive thermal treatment facility, and constant hydration is a MUST!), although there are two drinking water fountains in the basement/spa area, and one drinking water spigot inside the breakfast and dinner restaurant. -EVERY drink at lunch and dinner (except tap water) must be paid extra - and it´s *expensive*: I mean, 4 Euros for a 1 liter water bottle? A hint: there´s a tiny tobacco shop just opposite the hotel where you can buy water, sodas, beer, and alcoholic beverages for a fraction of the price they are asking at the hotel. -No lunch is included, only breakfast and dinner. The only place you can have a narrow selection of hot sandwiches and simple dishes is the bar on the reception floor. Again, no free water or any kind of drinks. -No coffee/tea with the dinner buffet offered - again, this is a half-medical spa where most guests would really appreciate some kind of digestive tea/chamomile/herbal infusion after dinner. -No bedroom slippers unless you are staying in a "superior category" room. -The indoor swimming pool is very useful, but 28ºC water temperature (at least, that was the advertised themp) is a bit too chilly for wintertime. Overall, 4.5 out of 5 points, we were very satisfied, and we will certainly return!

Nice hotel with wonderful healing water Nice hotel with wonderful healing water from the lake nearby. Very pleasant friendly staff, and everywhere - at the reception, in the restaurant, in the wellness area. The thermal water in the healing pool is changed every day. The thermal pool is only open until 7pm. The rest of the pools and sauna are open until 9pm. This is especially limiting if you plan walks or excursions during the day, and in the evening there is not much time for pools and saunas. How to improve: I'm sure all the guests would appreciate it, if the opening hours were extended by at least an hour, until 8pm and 10pm respectively. Spacious sauna area. Great big finnish sauna. What is unpleasant - the sauna is full-textil zone. We understand different opinions. But when people come to sauna in the same swiming suits they used a few minutes ago in thermal pools - it is really unhygienic and unhealthy for those people and other sauna visitors. How to improve: It would be much more convenient, if sauna is textil-allowed a half of the day, and textil-free afternoons. Nice restaurant. Good variety of dishes. The taste of food for dinner can differ markedly - one day everything is delicious, the next day all the dishes look very attractive, but they taste like nothing. No idea why. For breakfast, the assortment is not bad, but absolutely the same, always. It gets boring after a few days. How to improve: if the chefs could add some variety to breakfast, it would improve the whole experience a lot.

Very bad experience! We were at the Ensana Heviz hotel from September 25 to October 8. . The location of the hotel is not bad. The pool area is laid out normally. Good breakfasts and dinners. The staff is mostly polite. But The furniture in the room is very old and needs updating. Very poor room cleaning. The carpet on the floor was so old and dirty. The balcony was not clean. At the hotel, my husband and I took 14 procedures each, considering that these packages of more than 10 procedures should be at a discount. But we paid for this before leaving and realized that we did not have any discounts and the price for these procedures was greatly increased. The price for 1 procedure is almost 25 dollars. This is incredible! This is a clear deception that we did not expected! Unfortunately we will not go to this hotel again.
