The hotel has good location, close to highway and shopping. We had good night sleep there. Our room was facing Jefferson road so noice was not an issue at night. However, the hotel does not offer free bottled water as others. We had to retrieve our own from our car. It would be nice to add considering the relative low cost.

I have stayed here a few times for business. The hotel is great! Clean and the staff is always so friendly. They are updating the hotel, and the renovations are so nice! Jennifer at the main restaurant and bar is AWESOME! She is so attentive and friendly! She makes being away from home not so bad.

Good lord where do I start. A large group of us were all here for an event in the area, and each one of us seemed to have a different set of problems arise. Upon arrival, we were told that our rooms would not be ready until 4pm, even though check-in is stated to start at 3pm. 4:00pm...5:00pm...still rooms are not ready. When our rooms were finally ready, there was still trash in the room (coffee pods still in the machines, food in the refrigerator), no towels, and additionally, one of our rooms did not have a phone to even call down to request extra towels with. One memeber of our party, after freshly getting their hair done, had a massive leakage in the bathroom and had to be moved to another room. The water pressure in another room was turned off due to ongoing renovations, and in a third room it was sporatic at best. The elavators here are slow, which wouldnt be an issue if there wasnt also construction going on that needed to use the elevators and left the stairwells in disarray. Even the communal spaces are a wreck: leaks in the hallways, dry-wall dust everywhere, cleaning crews taking up nearly the entire hallway, and BOY IS IT HOT!!! The atrium area, with its plant decor, could be nice if it didnt feel as though you had actually entered the jungle and not Upstate New York. Service was mediocre at best, with staff seeming friendly but unaware of just how horrid the conditions of this hotel currently are. Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this Double Tree until renovations are over, or maybe even there is a change in management...

My wife and I were attending an annual meeting of a nonprofit group. When we arrived, there was a contractor's truck blocking the sheltered main entrance, although no work was in progress. At the main desk, we had to wait a few minutes, before being met (not greeted) by a staff member. We were early, and were informed that rooms would not be available until 4:00 pm; we knew the policy, but it never hurts to ask politely. We did a little shopping, during which we received an email from the hotel company (not this hotel itself), and were informed that as loyalty members, for a small additional fee, we could receive couple of benefits, including early check-in. Back at the front desk, we asked that same staff person about that possibility, and her reply was, "We don't have that policy. I don't give special treatment to someone based on who you are. If I could, I wouldn't." We found that personally insulting, especially since our email stated the policy of benefits. She then said, "By the way, your room is ready." That interaction left a bitter feeling in our minds during our stay, but I must add that other staff members at the hotel we polite and helpful, often beyond what one might expect. We plan to visit Rochester again, but we'll avoid this Doubletree.

Do not book this hotel for at least a year. ***under construction***!! Construction materials all over the place. Rooms are NOT renovated and are old. Toilet slow flush. Bed sheets were stained. Much of the hotel is in bad shape. Parking lot is a mess with many pot holes. Barely 1 star at this point, but they don’t tell you that on booking sites. Staff was accomodating and said they would cancel our reservation and give us our $$ back, but we booked through third party, so they have to work it out with them. We will see…!
