"The hotel has all the hallmarks of having a management makeover by a team that understands the bottom line but not the guests' requirements. The room carpet was wet from an overflowing shower. The TV had no controller. The windows had no outlook; they were frosted glass. Breakfast was very ordinary, consisting of leathery fried eggs, no cold meats or cheese, and no choice of fresh fruit. The bread was cheap, with no choice, but at least the coffee was brown, if not tasty."

"Excellent breakfast but I was charged for 2 @ £18.95 each (as I had a single room) so very expensive. On querying this I was told it was standard practice Large room although was surprised to have a disabled room when I hadn't requested one - meant that sink was low and shower was in the bath Room was cold. I was told the air conditioning had been put on for the summer and the room temperature couldn't be adjusted. Temperature control in room didn't work apart from blowing more cold air through the vents. Bathroom radiator didn't heat when turned on. Shower was lukewarm. Volume on TV control didn't work so sound very low Green light on ceiling for smoke detector kept me awake."

"Restaurant area didn't look as though it had been cleaned properly as food was on the floor from breakfast later on at dinner time and no one had sat there before and some tables needed wiping. But the staff are very helpful & really friendly. We asked to change rooms on arrival as there was a very strong horrible smell. Girl on reception was very efficient & immediately changed our room without a fuss. Would stay here again as the location is perfect. Loved the river running past & the park area in full bloom."

"KD Tower. Hemel Hempstead Our host Martin went above and beyond to find us an apartment with a balcony and a lovely view, king size bed was great. It is an interesting new town with the old town a bit further on. Lots of buses within 5 minutes walk. There are good cafés and restaurants in walking distance. The old English pubs are fabulous. Lots of interesting other towns and National trust sites within 40 minutes drive. We would most definitely stay there again."

"I will definitely stay again. The staff and owners were so friendly and polite. I am afraid there is no cooked breakfast there but the fruit salad is epic 😋. Muffins and croissants are lovely too. We went to Warner Bros Harry potter studios. It is a short walk to the station and we had 1 stop to Watford junction. And boom! they have a complementary bus to the studios. Easy Now the hotel don't do dining so it is best to eat out then go back. Very nicely decorated Room and very comfortable bed. I feel, gor me it was great value for money. And I like to support the small businesses. That way I think you get more of a personal service. I would recommend but you have to be organised for refreshments and snacks."
