Feversham Arms Hotel & Verbena Spa

Our third stay at The Feversham Arms Hotel.  We were allocated a pool suite which was excellent.  Apparently the hotel is up for sale, the administrators have been brought in.  Hopefully the new owners will be found and after a few tweaks here and there the hotel will be five stars.

My partner and I had a very relaxing stat at the hotel. We were greeting by friendly staff who talked us through the facilities and then showed us to out room. We stayed in a suit with a pool view. The room was bigger than expected with everything we could need, including s free standing bath and large and powerful shower. It was extremely quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious and once again staff were friendly and welcoming. Although check out was 11am we were able to use the downstairs changing room to have a post run shower before our trip back home, which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this hotel for a night away or girly getaway. A big thank you to Ingo the manager for making our return stay so memorable.

Great location and venue but showing signs of being unloved since our previous visit. Peeling wallpaper, worn out furniture doesn’t justify the £600+ price tag for a 1 night stay. Spa is still the highlight!

We celebrated our wedding at the Feversham Arms and Verbena Spa. Everything was amazing! The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful; the location is beautiful and the food is delicious. The spa facilities are an extra treat for your guests to relax and enjoy before or after the event. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding venue in a beautiful location, or for a relaxing weekend away.

I have mixed views of this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We asked to move rooms because we were put in the corridor next to the bar and restaurant which was noisy. The rooms are quite small and in need of some TLC but I was informed that the hotel is under new management and they will be getting on top of issues like mould and cracked tiles in the bathrooms. The restaurant menu was very expensive and up market taste but seemed typical of the area. I think that given this they could draw in a lot of business from putting in a gourmet burger and some lower priced items for the normal palette among us. Breakfast was good but nothing to go wild about. We went to the spa with intentions of treating ourselves but found the prices high.higher than any hotel I have visited before. The receptionist was a little panicky when faced with more than one thing at a time. Whether she was unsure of treatments or just not know came into question, when 2 of the beauticians kept talking over the top of her, arguing with themselves and generally being what I might call a bit "hoity" which made me feel beneath them. In the end we felt too uncomfortable to spend time and money there. We did however use the pool and hot tub, which even at this time of year is to hot, We met people who had been to a few spa days throughout the year. All said they were both too hot and that in the summer one woman had nearly passed out from the heat of the spa pool on a hot day and that when you start swimming the pool is far too hot. Turning them both down a few degrees would save money and be more present for guests. At the front of the hotel there are about 7 parking spaces. Within our stay each day there was an issue. On our first day a disabled couple wanted to park. At one point a gentleman was found and asked to move his car, he became very "upperty" saying he had reserved that space as he was a day spa guest and so was entitled and deserving to park there. The manager came down, was very nice to him and eventually got him to move. That evening it was someone wanting to use the electric changing point, again someone arguing they had the right over others to park there. The next day a hotel guest with a people carrier, that wouldn't fit under the low roof to the lower car park. They had to park on the road and the next day the manager parked them on the slope into the car park, both areas for this vehicle were dangerous. A notice that this area is for unloading and reserved for people given permission by management only can park there and a notice to then place in the car window from the reception desk would cut all this problem out. This could be done and signs up within hours. Finally, if your going to say somewhere is a "library", then have books that can be read, like book swaps that other hotels do and/or magazines. This area just looks like someone emptied their granny's house of random books. send someone to a charity shop to get things started or mayb

We booked 2 rooms for 4 people to celebrate our friends 70th Birthday we had the best time ever, all the staff were so helpful, the rooms were beautiful, the spa was wonderful and relaxing and the evening meal was exceptional and so was the breakfast, we are so lucky this little gem of a place is on our doorstep we will be back thank you to all :)
