This was an excellent base for our first few days walking the Cleveland Way National Trail. Very friendly welcome from the reception staff on arrival and all the staff we encountered were friendly. Excellent breakfasts and our evening meals were also very good. The room was clean and spacious enough for all of our gear, with a lovely view across the market square too. We would definitely return if we wanted to walk in the area again. Thank you.

We stayed nights at The Feathers on a b&b basis but ate here both nights. The hotel is right in the heart of the beautiful town of Helmsley in spectacular countryside. The restaurant serves very good food of a high “pub grub” standard. The food and service are excellent and the hotel has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We had two minor issues - - There are only 5 parking spaces at the rear of the building. The market square is directly opposite the hotel and paid parking is available there but needs to be topped up every two hours until 18-00. The only other option is on street parking in the town. This arrangement is not clear on the website. - Our room was disappointing. It was very clean with a nice bathroom but small with little storage available. The two small windows looked out onto a “working” roof. (See photo) At £165 per night for b&b we hoped for a nicer room. Enjoyed our stay but…….

We were in room 32 in the annex. The room was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed. The bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower cubicle, also dressing gowns and slippers were supplied and lots of lovely toiletries. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. There isn't alot of parking behind the pub, but we managed to get a spot. There is lots of parking in the market square opposite the pub.

Stayed here for our anniversary, room was lovely and spacious with lovely decor and huge comfy bed, Unbeknownst to us our daughter had contacted hotel to arrange to pay for drinks for us, Mary on reception was so lovely, she kept in touch with our daughter and organised everything even making a sure a card and complimentary bottle of fizz was in our room on arrival, we dined in the restaurant and the food was fabulous, it really was a perfect stay THANKYOU to all the team at The Feathers

We stayed her for a couof nights and really enjoyed our visit to this attractive town. First off the staff are all wonderful, so friendly and happy to chat snd tell you all about the area. Our breakfasts were excellent as was the meal we took there. We only had a small room which we expected, no problem, and spotless. My only gripe would be the extra bits that clutter the surfaces like brochures etc. It’s a small room, that’s fine but we had to stack all sorts of coffee paraphernalia on a window sill, we could do without all of that, its minor, the place is wonderful.

A very comfortable two night stay to commence the Cleveland Way. The room was well prepared and at night dark and quiet which was wonderful for sleeping. Breakfast was served promptly from a menu with several choices. Staff were welcoming. A very pleasant stay in a lovely location.

Stayed for one night in room 23, a superior room, fabulous, great large bed, 2 comfy chairs, lots of space, dressing area and modern bathroom with huge shower. Very good breakfast and friendly service, all the staff were excellent,
