Deluxe room was clean but very small. Twin beds were inches apart from each other with no room to move further apart. Meals were only adequate, the main courses we had both chosen from the evening menu weren’t available, sold out by 7pm, so we had to select alternatives, which were less than inspiring. Altogether a rather disappointing experience

This was an excellent base for our first few days walking the Cleveland Way National Trail. Very friendly welcome from the reception staff on arrival and all the staff we encountered were friendly. Excellent breakfasts and our evening meals were also very good. The room was clean and spacious enough for all of our gear, with a lovely view across the market square too. We would definitely return if we wanted to walk in the area again. Thank you.

We stayed nights at The Feathers on a b&b basis but ate here both nights. The hotel is right in the heart of the beautiful town of Helmsley in spectacular countryside. The restaurant serves very good food of a high “pub grub” standard. The food and service are excellent and the hotel has a friendly welcoming atmosphere. We had two minor issues - - There are only 5 parking spaces at the rear of the building. The market square is directly opposite the hotel and paid parking is available there but needs to be topped up every two hours until 18-00. The only other option is on street parking in the town. This arrangement is not clear on the website. - Our room was disappointing. It was very clean with a nice bathroom but small with little storage available. The two small windows looked out onto a “working” roof. (See photo) At £165 per night for b&b we hoped for a nicer room. Enjoyed our stay but…….

We were in room 32 in the annex. The room was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed. The bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower cubicle, also dressing gowns and slippers were supplied and lots of lovely toiletries. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. There isn't alot of parking behind the pub, but we managed to get a spot. There is lots of parking in the market square opposite the pub.

Amazing food today popped in for lunch 2 pubwiches . Such lovely cosy feel and friendly staff. The duty manager keith went out of his way to check our route was clear on the way home on his phone .10/10 from.us the feathers hotel !!

We visited as a couple and seated in the restaurant. The spotlights are dim and shine in your face. Unfortunately a lady and her friends suffered the brunt of Keith as we moved the light and she tried to move to a position that suited both of us. Keith called her out and said she was rude because she suggested both parties would have to have it shining on our faces. I was ok with it, but KEITH was awful. He raised his voice at a customer, he didn’t need to do this as everyone was having a good time. It embarrassed me and the other party. He then tried to over accommodate. Food average. Keith was intimidating. I also heard him openly talking about other customers in the bar area. So sorry lovely venue but won’t return.

Made a reservation for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. We had the roast beef which was absolutely delicious. They certainly don't skimp on the amount of meat they give you which was full of flavour and very tender. The vegetable selection was excellent and very tasty. My husband especially liked their gravy.
