Weald of Kent Golf Course and Hotel

Disgusting unclean rooms, I originally asked for a move due to a recent operation as it was a distance considering the circumstances. The reception couldn’t help as they were fully booked. Got to my room, an open toilet brush on display with poo and poo in toilet, the room smelt like the toilet brush, hairs and crap all over floors and they hadn’t cleaned the window cills, I called reception and was told I could go in room 5? Thought they didn’t have any rooms?? This room stinks, the rubbers on the windows are falling out. Apparently you can’t be moved to the delux rooms despite being placed in the pit up the road as that too is fully booked, this place might be good for golf but they only seem to value the customers who spend a bit more, I think the housekeeping should treat all guests the same. Shocking, wouldn’t come back!!

Had a great stay for a family wedding for 2 nights, very nice room, excellent grounds, very nice bar & dining area, staff were very friendly.. Why only 4*?, minor probs we had was with the plumbing in the room, Sink & Toilet did not work well, they did try & unblock the sink but that didnt last long. Was a bit of an inconvenience but we managed ok & it didnt spoil our stay.

Had this recommended by a friend so as we were off work we thought we would book a table. I booked on line the day before but did not get a confirmation until the following morning by which time we had booked somewhere else which we then cancelled. Nice restaurant and quite relaxing to sit and take in the sights of the golfers and the pond. The menu didn't have a lot of choice but was ok. Our order was taken quickly but took quite a long time to come. There was a few members of staff about, one lady in particular seemed to be doing the lions share of the work. Taking orders, laying tables and generally running about! There was one other table occupied in the restaurant when we arrived, they left before our food was served but their table was left uncleared for at least 30mins. 3 ladies arrived not long afterwards but waited a long time for their food after their order was taken. Our plates were eventually cleared and I ordered a desert and my Husband a coffee. The coffee arrived in good time, my desert took 25mins?? We were on the verge of paying and leaving when it arrived! We were a little disappointed when we left but can't praise the blonde lady server enough, she was great! I can't imagine how they cope when its busy!!!! The food was average.

After looking for a nice venue for a family Birthday lunch,phoned the Weald Of Kent to see if they had avalibility for a larger group. Firstly being a Hotel aswell you would imagine they have a receptionist to answer the phone,but you have to leave a voicemail. A lady did call back the next day and said yes the date was available and to call back after the Bank Holiday with confirmed numbers and to leave a deposit. I called back on the Wednesday had to leave another message,no one phoned back so called Thursday no call,then Friday no call. Was extremely disappointed that no one could take the time to make my booking,In the end found another venue who were excellent. All i can say is the Weald Of Kent can't need the custom,would not recommend!!!.

Helpful and friendly staff do not ancient feel unwelcome just because you are not a member . Lovely seating area outside in nice weather. Lots of food options. Will come again

We chose this hotel as base mid point between the two places we were visiting, it was convenient and had a restaurant. "Restaurant" to me is a separate dining area. When we arrived reception was closed and a sign directed us to the "restaurant" to book in. We walked through the door and were greeted by a rammed room of drinkers, you could not hear yourself think! Tables with reserved signs on them were surrounded by drinkers shouting and being generally raucous. I found a member of staff and we got checked in, I asked if that was the "restaurant", yes she replied, it should calm down later! We declined our table booking. The room we had was adequate although the toilet seat looked like it was off a kiddies potty and was two inches too short for the bowl. We went down for breakfast on Saturday morning and the "restaurant" was already full of golfers downing pints at 9am. Sunday was the same. I thought golf clubs were meant to have a bit of decorum? Obviously not. Don't expect a lot from this place.
