Kruger Park Lodge

First time staying at the Kruger Park Lodge resort, really happy with our experience. Ideally situated on the R40 road, a few minutes from shopping amenities at Hazyview Junction Mall (highly recommend Woolworths/Chequers for groceries/household items), and easy access to Kruger National Park - 15 min drive to Phabeni Gate, or 30 min to Paul Kruger gate. Also 5 min drive to Elephant Whispers. Our check-in was short, easy and smooth, staff directed us to our lodge with a map and gave us a sticker for our hire car window for ease of access at security gates. The grounds are well kept and beautiful, some really lovely plant and tree specimens and we were delighted to see the hippos who laughed and played a lot each day but never kept us awake. Also a joy to watch Bushbucks, Impala and other antelope freely grazing the golf course and gardens in the early morning, lots of bird life and very well behaved Vervet monkeys eating from banana trees, but never bothered us. The restaurant on site is highly recommended, particularly the meat options and fillet steaks were superb. All meals are very big portions and very reasonably priced. Cocktails were good quality too! The pool and outdoor activity areas are clean and well serviced, staff are very polite and attentive and we had everything we needed to compliment our stay. The cleaners did a gold standard service of our lodge, which was well equipped and in good working order. High standard of furniture and equipment. We expected many load shedding experiences but were lucky not to experience any in our 10 day visit - not that the resort can control these - the WiFi was more than adequate for 3 adults and a teenager! Our kids loved the mini golf, pool, trampolines and volleyball - we just ran out of time to do the bike hire and tennis! We felt very safe during our visit and the grounds are very peaceful, with exception of a little disco on Saturday nights, but it's a holiday resort so we made peace with that. As the lodges are self catering, you're advised to use Hazyview Junction to stock up on essentials when you arrive. If we ever get the opportunity to revisit this part of South Africa we'd definitely stay here again and encourage all our friends to visit.

A well maintained resort, with something for all ages and interests. Chalets well equipped. Staff friendly. Out of 'season' visit, so not very busy. More information on local things to do would be a plus. Better fairway maintenance and clearer marking re greens needed. The lapa at the river needs to be open for sundowners 7 days a week. (One good barman and a couple of waiters would be all that's needed.)

Place is very neat and well taken care of and serviced on a daily basis. Lucia handled our reservation with ease and very sweet

From start to finish, this trip was epic. The lodges were wonderful, the pool and restaurant was great. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the Kruger Park Lodge. The units were spacious, well equipped and very clean. We made use of all the onsite facilities and i loved the on site restaurant as well as the Hippo Hide. The resort is perfectly located for exploring the Kruger as well as the variety of activities in and around HazyView. Very close to shops and restaurants. The staff were all extremely friendly. This was a great choice and we will definately be returning.

Apartment 509 suited our needs very well - it has everything that one needs for self-catering. The restaurant provides an alternative option for meals. The lodge has good security, and the animals roaming around add to the peaceful atmosphere. The closest gate to the Kruger Park is about 12 kms away. Two shopping malls are within walking distance.
