"If you want a break in the Borders area, it would be difficult to find better accommodation than the Balcary House Hotel. Day starts with a great breakfast to set you up for the day served by superb waiting staff who are prepared to chat but not in an obtrusive way. Hawick is in a super location for seeing all that the Borders area has to offer but you should be aware that many attractions do not open until the 1st April. Returning to the hotel they have a small but adequately stocked bar and a great lounge/sitting area with very comfortable seating. If we return to the Borders we would definitely try the Balcary first mainly because of the great staff and the comfort of the hotel."

"Excellent stay! I had the pleasure of staying in this lovely rural country house. The hosts were extremely friendly, accommodating and welcoming. The bedroom was delightful - very quiet and peaceful. The food was top quality and there is a lovely atmosphere. A highlight was the resident hare family walking past the window as I ate breakfast. I will definitely be going back to this lovely b&b and would highly recommend a stay."
