"Stayed once more at the Premier Inn Harwich and I was not disappointed. Ideally located close to my place of work, it is also a short drive into town. In the evenings the hotel is quiet. The rooms are of a decent size, matrasses are firm and comfortable. The rooms are good value and the ample free parking is a bonus. The best feature of this hotel is the staff. Amanda, Sue and the front of house team always greet you with a smile. Requests are dealt with efficiently and professionally, ensuring a comfortable stay. The rooms and public areas are always clean. Thank you again all for another great stay"

"We have just had a lovely stay at the Alma Inn. There was a very warm welcome from the staff and the room, in general, was very comfortable, especially the generously sized bed.. However, it must be pointed out that the En suite bath is more of a gimmick than being practical. Apparently it is Japanese style, so it's very small and deep, the base and seat were very slippery coupled with the lack of a grab bar to use getting in and out and the steps provided being slippery and not fixed made it dangerous for those who are less than 100% mobile. We found it extremely difficult to wash properly in it. A shower cubicle or wet room would serve much better. A hook to hang towels on would be useful. There was also a lack of hanging space for clothes. The food served, as usual, was extremely good and the service downstairs in the pub absolutely brilliant. The staff are very efficient and a credit to the business. Would we stay there again? A resounding yes but not in room 9"

"Now under new ownership, things have changed, for the better. The lady in reception could not do enough for us.  We were offered several rooms to choose from which is very rare. The secure parking area was shown to us, the gate opened and then shown from there to our room. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom. Very polite, very friendly and excellent value for the money. So glad the pub has gone, it was a bit loud but now 9t was lovely and quiet. A good nights sleep was had by us both and we will always use this place when travelling via ferry. For us, although it’s not a five star hotel, for what we were given and the friendliest welcome it gets a 5 star review from us."
