Dunes Express Inn and Suites

Chose this hotel to be close to Silver Lake and activities. This hotel is actually not close to any of that but in this part of the state, 10 miles would be considered close. the hotel itself looks nice from a distance, check in and out were both fast. all staff seemed nice and friendly. our room was nothing fancy, two beds with a lot of pillows and were clean. carpet is aging. internet is not good here, we had better phone reception in our car and something is wrong with their tv reception also. the beds were comfortable. plenty of room. the pool area is very large with tables and chairs for those not swimming and we noticed a large outdoor cemented area adjacent to the pool with a couple picnic tables out there. but the doors were locked to gain access. this is the first hotel we've ever seen that didnt have an outdoor area for its guests and disappointed the area they already have isnt utilized for its guests. dogs are welcomed at this hotel . the continental breakfast is normal fare, hot and cold items, fruit , cereal, usually something to satisfy anyone. Overall its not a bad place, it is dated and probably needs some new direction and new ideas

Housekeeping will only empty your trash, provide more soap, and remove dirty towels. Housekeeping will NOT make your bed, replenish with clean towels, or give you toilet paper. We had 2 wrapped rolls that we did not touch on our first night. After housekeeping came the morning after - they took the 2 wrapped rolls and once we ran out of our existing roll - we were left to use kleenex tissue paper for the remainder of our stay. For charging $300 a night we expected the basics and were left disappointed. The pool & breakfast were acceptable.

Meh… Dunes Express Inn & Suites was average at best. The bathroom was horrible. The faucet into the tub was turned so the water came out sideways. The shower head was falling apart and adjustment knob was frozen in place. The water went cold in the middle of the shower, and there was no soap in the room for the shower. There was a soap dispenser above the sink and shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower, but no soap for the shower.

The nonsmoking room was Smokey! All around under par for the price. The grass was full of bugs

Beds were very firm, pillows were kind of small. Everything pretty outdated especially the TV. Pretty sure the channels were as old as the TV somehow and I’m not joking- programs from the early 2000s. Wasn’t easy to entertain the kids at night with the tv. A kids show or movie would have been nice. Nothing super special but will do when booking last minute and nothing else is available. Easy to park the dune vehicles/trailers.

Staff was great friendly and helpful, Beds was to firm,free breakfast was unimpressive,construction going on close by started before 7:30am noisy
