"From what I can tell, your hotel options in Hana are a very expensive resort, a small inn that I couldn’t find much information on regarding whether or not it was still even open, and the Hana Kai condos. I chose the condos and was satisfied with my choice. We received excellent communication regarding after hours check in. We opted to check in before the office closed. The lady in the office was very helpful, and even suggested I use the house phone when I had a poor connection trying to make a restaurant reservation. Parking was easy. We chose the Pomadoro #2 unit. From the description, I understood the unit was dated, had no AC but was clean and had a superb view. All of these were accurate. I didn’t really care about the dated part. It was actually a fun retro Hawaiian vibe. The mattress and pillows were good. It was well-stocked. To the gentleman who complained about lack of AC, this information is clearly mentioned. The grounds were lovely. I was a little warm, but with the sliders open and the two fans running, it was doable. The sound of waves crashing was great. If you want to cook in the kitchen, be aware that the store closes early. The building is older, so expect to hear noise from other units. The ocean will help drown it out. My only complaint is there was no place to plug in a charger next to the bed. So, while things aren’t perfect, I do feel the units are accurately described and it’s up to the customer to decide what is or isn’t a dealbreaker. I feel this is the best choice of the affordable options in Hana."
