DoubleTree by Hilton Weerawila Rajawarna Resort
"Out of all the places we stayed during our Sri Lanka trip, this hotel’s environment truly blew me away. ✨ **[Impeccable Eco-Environment: Living in a Natural Grand Park]** The hotel's core highlight is its unparalleled natural setting. The entire property feels like a meticulously maintained natural park, where the landscaping seamlessly blends with the surrounding lake. The scenery, with the water and sky mirroring each other, is incredibly therapeutic. Walking around the grounds, you’ll see egrets gracefully strolling on the lawns or flying low overhead, and various small animals everywhere. Even lizards, which are “standard Southeast Asian fare,” add to the ecological feel – it truly feels like living in a wildlife park. The hotel's outdoor pool is large and expansive, offering direct lake views, perfect for photos and relaxation. There’s also a dedicated boardwalk by the lake, ideal for cycling or a stroll in the evening, enjoying the lake breeze and watching the sunset – it's so comfortable you won’t want to leave. 🏊♂️ **[Facilities and Rooms: Basic but Solid, Bathroom a Huge Plus]** The room generally boasts Hilton's standard configuration – clean and spacious. The bathroom, in particular, is very large, making it comfortable to use. Given that it's an eco-park in Sri Lanka, occasionally you might find small mosquitoes near the toilet, which is normal for Southeast Asian hotels and perfectly acceptable. The hotel has two restaurants, offering both à la carte and buffet options. The food quality is decent, and they support Alipay and WeChat Pay, which is much more cost-effective than using local currency directly. 🍽️ **[Dining Experience: Lacking Highlights, Buffet Rather Ordinary]** Due to an upset stomach, we didn’t try the buffet and ordered à la carte, which tasted pretty good. The breakfast buffet looked like it had many options and was quite crowded, but in reality, there weren't many choices that suited our taste. Also, because there are many Indian guests staying, both breakfast and dinner had dedicated Indian food sections. For tourists not used to strong flavors, this further limited the options. Compared to a five-star hotel's positioning, the breakfast as a whole was only average, which is a common issue with most hotels in Sri Lanka. 📍 **[Location and Travel: An Excellent Base for Safari]** The hotel is not far from Yala National Park's Safari area, making it very convenient whether you’re driving yourself or using a private car. We personally found that there’s no need to rush for an early morning safari; an afternoon departure offered a much better experience. We saw a leopard as soon as we entered the park and also spotted most of the iconic animals mentioned in guidebooks. There's no need to get up early and rush, and you can return to the hotel to relax right after – the pace was incredibly comfortable. Always prioritize using Alipay/WeChat for payments, as the exchange rate is much better than using local currency directly. Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth staying at, thanks to its stunning ecological environment and excellent location! If you're coming for the safari and natural scenery, this place will definitely be a highlight of your trip. The only minor regret is that the dining didn't quite match the overall quality."
Hotel Tamarind Tree
"The prices of hotels near the southern seaside are comparable to those of the Colombo Hilton Hotel, but the hardware facilities are much worse. Although the swimming pool owned by the hotel is not large, the water quality is not bad, and it also provides auxiliary play facilities such as water polo and ball racks. The food for breakfast and dinner was just like this. When I checked out, I paid and left without looking at the bill details. Afterwards, I took out the bill and looked at it. I found that we did not consume Coke for dinner, but there was indeed a charge of 220 rupees on the bill. Although the amount is so small that it can be ignored, it reflects the lax record of consumption bills."

"The most delightful stop on our entire trip! The hotel's interior and exterior decor were incredibly stylish. We even saw monkeys and elephants by the pool! Dinner was a delicious and varied buffet. Ashansa Lagoon Resort
Ravana Garden
"This hotel is located in a remote area, which turned out to be a huge advantage. The peaceful surroundings allowed us to completely unwind without any distractions — it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Right from the start, we were treated to a lovely surprise: a room upgrade with a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic. The food was a highlight — beautifully flavored local dishes with a creative twist. Knowing that everything was sourced sustainably from local farmers made the experience even more meaningful. What really stood out was the hospitality. During my stay, I sprained my ankle, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. A special thank you to Lakshitha, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my recovery. This is a place where nature, comfort, and genuine care come together. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and experience authentic Sri Lankan warmth."
All View Resort
"We stayed at All View for 3 days. The location is hidillic and at short distance from the turtle beach, where we indeed saw (baby and mother) turtles. The guest house is simple, but extremely clean and welcoming. The land lady is very kind, provides valuable tips, and is a remarkably good cook."
Jetwing Jungle Lodge, A Luxury Reserve
"A precious memory of being able to see elephants in person... We truly had an authentic jungle experience. My family was satisfied, and the food and hotel facilities were also great."
Cinnamon Wild Yala
"Out of the 5 days I spent in Sri Lanka, this hotel was by far my favorite and the most satisfying! It's located right next to Yala National Park, sharing the same grounds as the Hilton resort, so you'll spot various animals quite often. We stayed in a jungle chalet, and it was incredibly clean! Both the AC and fan were very quiet. Every staff member was so nice and friendly. We were able to pre-order breakfast boxes for our early morning safari, and on our departure day, since we were leaving too early for lunch (we had booked a full-board package), they even prepared lunch boxes for us to take on the road. The service was absolutely excellent! And the value for money is fantastic!! Highly, highly recommended!"
Hilton Yala Resort
"Hilton Yala is a lovely place and hopefully one day I can return. Service was great."
Kayaam Wellness
"I recently stayed at Kayaam House Tangalla and was impressed by the overall experience. The rooms were well-maintained and comfortable, and the food was excellent, showcasing a delightful range of flavors. However, my experience was marred by one staff member, Isiwara. Unfortunately, his attitude and service were very poor, and he was unfriendly throughout our stay. His behavior felt suspicious and unprofessional, which is disappointing given the high standards set by the rest of the team. I would have gladly given a 5-star rating if not for this negative interaction. I hope the management addresses this issue because such behavior can tarnish the reputation of an otherwise great hotel."
Oak Ray Wild Yala
"Go to Yala Park and have a rich breakfast"
Ravan Resort Tangalle
"We spent one night here. The bus station is very close, the sea is just down the street. There are a few restaurants nearby and a shop is not far away. Everything you need is there. The staff was very nice and happy to help."
EKHO Safari Tissa
"Overall it's good, all aspects of the service are in place, worth the price, if I have to say something bad, it is the mosquitoes, but there is really no way to prevent them,"
Serene Park Hotel by Ark
"A very beautiful place with a stunning view Lovely clean accommodation all amenities needed for a comfy stay Friendly helpful staff lovely clean and most welcome pool Close to Tissa by tuc tuc or walking A definite recommendation to anyone who just wants a peaceful stay "
Shine Park
"From the moment I arrived at Shine Park Guest House, everything exceeded my expectations. The guest house exudes charm and comfort with its cozy, well-appointed rooms and friendly, attentive staff. The highlight of my stay was definitely the breakfast—a delightful spread of fresh fruits, local delicacies, pastries, and a perfect cup of coffee that truly set the tone for a fantastic day."
Seth Villa by Magampura Resorts
"This resort exceeded all our expectations. A beautiful place, clean and spacious rooms with fans and air conditioning, international outlets by the bed, a closet to store your belongings, and a terrace overlooking the pool. The common areas are charming, tastefully decorated, overlooking a lagoon full of birds; there's even a kayak available. The pool is the icing on the cake, perfect for cooling off in the tropical climate. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We had dinner here both days; the food was fresh, plentiful, and delicious. But the best part is the incredibly attentive staff, always making you feel pampered and fulfilling every wish. These warm-hearted people provided us with unique and authentic moments. The nearby beach is a long strip of sand overlooking the ocean, lapped by jungle and a stunning lagoon, where we took a sunset cruise on a traditional rowboat—a true poetic experience. We never wanted to leave. The value for money was absolutely excellent, as was the attitude of the staff, who never tried to take advantage of us, which is very rare. We highly recommend it to everyone."
Lagoon Gate Tangalle Resort
"I recently had an amazing time at Lagoon Gate Resort with my friends! I have to specially mention about the friendliness and attentiveness of staff. The room was spotless, and the meals were outstanding. The evening water kayaking experience was an unforgettable and enchanting adventure. I'm already looking forward to returning to this wonderful place!"
Palm Paradise Cabanas & Villas Beach Resort
"We got the best cabanas very close to the beach about 20 m away from the beach and can hear the ocean sound through out saw the sunrise from the room it self...Though there was no AC we were comfortable. We stayed for two nights 3 days the breakfast was good but rest of the meals they didn't have saying it is off season and we have to go searching for places."
