Our stay at the Muir, during the last week of October 2025, could not have been better. It is a truly beautiful hotel, situated right on the Halifax waterfront. It is exquisitely designed, sleek and modern, with thoughtful touches everywhere. From the moment we arrived, all the staff were wonderfully welcoming. Our room was stunningly beautiful and looked out onto the waterfront. The furnishings were elegant (the bar armoire is a work of art and yet fully functional), with an incredibly comfortable bed which made our room a wonderful, serene sanctuary. The room staff were discreet and yet attentive. As an example among many, they saw that we had a glass of water beside the bed the first night. For the subsequent nights, at the turn down service, they made sure that water was placed beside our bedside on a beautiful little mat. It is this intuitive attention to detail that appears in so many places throughout, which makes this hotel a truly exceptional place. The spa was also lovely, including the pool, steam room and sauna, all spotlessly clean. We dined at the hotel restaurant, Drift, twice, and both times were delightful. Complimentary access to the hotel’s Range Rover to get one around downtown was much appreciated. The hilly streets of Halifax, done in style. It really is one of the most beautiful city hotels we have ever had the good fortune in which to stay. We completely recommend staying here and it will be our first and only choice in Halifax, going forward.

We enjoyed our stay at the Muir. We had a lovely room with an incredible harbour front view. There is a maritime feel to the decor which is understated and tasteful. The staff were very helpful and the “secret speakeasy” served locally themed cocktails, each with a local inspiration. Low and no alcohol choices were also available. We had a fine brunch in the lobby level hotel restaurant, and walked to nearby restaurants for dinners. The Halifax harbour boardwalk is right outside the door. Oh, and did I mention the view?

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Muir in Halifax - Oct 18-21, 2025. May I say ALL staff were EXCEPTIONAL from check in to check out - the smiles, the welcomes. From Anita, who served us at their restaurant, the Drift (great food) to breakfast at the same place in the morning. To the gentleman who offered me warm milk for my tea (apologies, I didn't get his name) at breakfast. And ... to the amazing housekeeping team who kept our room immaculately clean. A quick story - my husband and I ordered some quick treats for our flight back the night before our flight through Skip The Dishes. Needless to say Skip didn't show up. We briefly mentioned our story to the front staff and the fact that I didn't get my Bounty chocolate bars :-( - yes, I was being a baby :)!! The next morning before our checkout, Anna (Guest Experience) came to our room with Bounty chocolates that were presented to us in a beautiful gift bag accompanied with a touching letter. She said this was from the team. We were in shock yet touched and incredibly grateful to how thoughtful and generous they were to think of us - that they actually remembered our chat with them in passing as my husband and I went for dinner the night before. To the AMAZING staff at the front desk - Tajee, Julia, Joshua who went above and beyond in being so kind and gracious. My husband is currently a Titanium member (nearing Ambassador) with Marriott and we have truly never experienced this type of service before whereby we were not only treated as guests but as ... family. Wishing you all only that which is good and true. Thank you ... from the bottom of our hearts.

I spent 3 nights at the Muir in Halifax. arriving by train. The property is convenient to the VIA Rail station, and sits right on the wharf boardwalk. It is right next to the ferry station. The hotel itself has a very small lobby with a very nice seating area, and there is an excellent on-site restaurant. The decor of the entire hotel is understated modern quiet elegance. The rooms have an offset entrance door which enhances privacy. The bathroom is huge and has a room-sized walk-in rain shower and a soaking tub. The floor is planking and the bed is surrounded by a rag rug. The furniture is modern and comfortable. There is a large bar containing large bottles of premium liquor, and a refrigerated drawer containing beer and soft drinks. The bed is very comfortable. The large closet contains robes, yoga equipment, an umbrella and an ironing board. The drapes are motorized. Room lighting is controlled by smart switches. Over the years, I have stayed at many high-end hotels and the Muir is in its own class. When I needed something- transportation in the house car, ferry tickets, reservations etc. the great staff just makes things quietly happen. Perfect!

We booked the Muir hotel Halifax in October for 8 nights. We were provided the room we had requested at booking -5th floor , overlooking the harbour. The views from our room were spectacular -sweeping views of the Halifax Harbour and waterfront-where many great restaurants and shops operate. From the moment we arrived and during the next 8 days we experienced a level of service we have only experienced at a 5 star Michelin Key Hotel in Europe. The service is absolutely fantastic, friendly, warm, and attentive. Every staff member you passed said hello or wished you a good day! It is a genuine 5 Star property in every possible way. There is a Speak Easy called BKS located on the 3rd floor which serves some of the best cocktails we have tasted. The menu shares history behind the inspiration of their creations. The lounge also has one of the best rooftop outdoor patios on the waterfront with stellar views. There is a complimentary car service which will take guests of the hotel around the downtown area and will also pick you up. Little gifts left by housekeeping and attention to every detail in the room made us feel valued and pampered. We will be back!

We stayed for four nights at this lovely hotel. The location is excellent - right on the board walk and next to the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Within walking distance of many restaurants. Also only a couple of blocks to Arthur's Urban Grocery store - a great place for picking up a picnic lunch. The hotel provides driving service to locations within 2 km of the hotel, which we did take advantage of when we were too tired to climb the hill to see the Citadel! Our room, a junior suite, was comfortable, nicely decorated, quiet and very clean. We had a city view which gave us a nice view of this lively city. Service was personal and excellent, and it was obvious that their goal is to make the guest happy. All staff, from the front door to the spa, greeted us, remembered our names, and quickly and cheerfully helped us. In particular Rhianne at the front desk was so helpful. In addition to answering many questions about Halifax, she prepared a two page list of recommended sites to visit, current activities, good places for breakfast and dinner, and even texted me with updates; so helpful and always pleasant and professional. The front desk staff also arranged for delivery of the local newspaper (hotels don't seem to carry newspapers anymore) We had one breakfast and one dinner at the Muir's restaurant. Food was good, service was good but not at the same level as the hotel staff. We visited BKS, the Muir's speakeasy, two nights and really enjoyed sitting outside by our little fire with our drinks and munchies. Gym is spacious, clean and has a wide selection of equipment and machines as well as a room that can be used for stretching if there is no class underway. Spa pool is a warm temperature and nice for relaxing, tho it is popular and may not be so quiet! Attendants are so helpful and friendly.
