I arrived late and even informed the hotel that I would be late but my room wasn't ready. It was very early in the morning and I was asked to sit and wait while my room was prepared. I ended up going to coffee at McDonald's while I waited.

The Lord Nelson is incredibly reasonably priced, compared to a lot of Halifax. It for sure was not cheap, but as I learned the hard way, it never is staying in Halifax in the summer. The staff was helpful and made sure to restock used shampoos and towels whenever they were needed.

Beautiful spacious room with a lovely view of the public gardens. Very quiet with a super comfortable bed. The hotel staff were very kind, courteous and helpful. We found a lovely personalized card and surprise upon our arrival to our room. The bell staff made our arrival and departure seamless. We appreciated the assistance after a long 10 hour drive from PEI. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Perfect location (we left our car in the parkade for the duration) and had beautiful evening walks in the gardens across the street. Giant thank-you to the management and staff 😊

Terrible service of being down graded rooms without notice and the staff lying about the reason why. Each staff throughout something different as to the reason with the first person saying it was my choice.

Great hotel in the heart of Halifax. Close to all major attractions. Rooms are beautiful and clean - overall the best hotel I have stayed at in Halifax and will definitely stay there again.
