We recently spent 4 nights at this beautiful hotel to celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. I had mentioned it when I booked, however it was not acknowledged in any way, as other hotels do with a card or similar, not a huge issue but would have added to our experience. This beautiful hotel is reminiscent of days gone by, with all the brass and titanic like decor. The only other issue we had was with housekeeping, they did not show up until 4-5 o’clock when we were ready to have a nap or shower after a long day of walking. Some days we just put the do not disturb card up, and used the same towels etc. Staff in the restaurant were so friendly and helpful, and the food very good. All in all a nice little break, but would probably try another hotel when we return. Oh and the doormen were amazing, so friendly and not at all pretentious as in some high end hotels.

Our stay in the Lord Nelson Hotel was unforgetable experience, I can summarized it as having a clean and comfortable room, attentive and friendly staff, and convenient amenities.

The Lord Nelson is good value for the price. Location is excellent, Rooms are comfortable and clean. Service was good and considerate for evening and morning breakfast. However, The Classic breakfast food was terrible. My husband returned his meal to the kitchen. Bread was not toasted and was cold; sausages were cold as well. When it was returned, it was still not very edible. I ate very little of my Breakfast sandwich as it was so greasy. I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen at times like this, as next time it could be much better. Except for the breakfast food, we would still recommend the Lord Nelson.

A beautiful hotel and wedding venue in the heart of Halifax. We were impressed with the hotel staff and high level of service! The rooms were spacious and spotless.

If you have kids, get the deluxe King suite...its incredible and so nice for the kids to have their own separate space to hang out in and the adults do, too :)
