Jr Inn Hakodate Reviews

Really happy we booked here. Breakfast was superb. Way cheaper and better than what we had in Sapporo. Love the proximity to the Morning Market. Bus and tram stations are just outside the hotel. JR station is also next to the hotel. Everything is so convenient.

I stayed here from 9th - 11th Jul 2025. The location is excellent as it is above the JR Hakodate station. We had lunch at the nearby Hakodate morning market and Lucky Pierrot restaurant. The hotel is quiet and not noisy at all despite being located above the JR station. There is a lounge on Level 12 for guests to relax and have coffee with a great view of Hakodate and the sea. The hotel is clean and reasonable for it's price point. It's a great choice for a short stay in Hakodate. From the hotel, we could walk to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse and even to the foot of Mount Hakodate. I also visited Cape Tachimachi which is worth the effort to get there. The view is amazing. Do consider staying here as it offers great value for your money.

The biggest advantage of JR Inn is undoubtedly its location—being directly connected to the JR Station made traveling incredibly convenient and efficient. It’s hard to beat that level of accessibility, especially for those with tight schedules or early trains. However, I was disappointed to find a flea in the bed during my stay. This was unexpected and concerning, as cleanliness is a top priority when choosing accommodation. I hope the hotel takes stronger measures to ensure this doesn’t happen again. With such a prime location, JR Inn has great potential, but attention to hygiene and room maintenance is essential to match the convenience it offers.

There are many reasons to stay here. Location. You probably need to use Hakodate Station, so you might as well stay near it. The fish market is across the road. It is super clean. Very nice onsen and lounge. The staff are kind and understanding. The breakfast was much better than expected. Pillow choice was a nice surprise. It was very quiet. A great stay!!

The hotel is next to JR station. And it is also within walking distance to Morning Market. The facilities and amenities are standard and as expected by travellers. Car parking charges are very reasonable for an overnight provided by hotel. Most attractions are close by.

Super nice hotel!!!! Good location just right next to the JR station. There’s shops and convenience store next to the hotel, easy to have gift buying and something to eat in the mid-night! Also the seafood market nearby hotel only take few minutes to be there, a good choice for breakfast! That’s easy to reach to the city central so try more shopping mall and see sights location.

Service was friendly, room was clean, comfortable and well-sized with public baths (indoor and outdoor) on the top floor. Also accessibility: Is just beside Hakodate station. Highly recommended.

JR Inn Hakodate is particularly outstanding in several aspects: great location which is directly connected to JR Hakodate station so people would not get wet even it’s raining, special offer on extra pillows with different material, relaxing open area which allows people to rest after bathing (please see photos attached), amenities such as washing machine and microwave etc, the unique view of JR railway in room. Just one thing: The space in my room became very limited after I opened my 26’ luggage on the floor. Overall the hotel is perfect!

The hotel is very well located and the breakfast is excellent. The room has a nice view this time.

Pleasant welcoming staff. Location is very close to Hakodate Station & opposite the Hakodate Morning Market. Many eateries and shops nearby hence very convenient. Beautiful sunset from the harbour beside hotel.

The location is super close to JR station, amenities are very good, pola, Dyson… and the breakfast is super good as well! I would love to stay again.
