I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. It takes 80 minutes by bus from Morioka Station, and there are 3 buses a day. The road from Hachimantai Resort is narrow and steep, so it is impossible to climb on a regular bus, so I changed to a bonnet bus. I had read in a post that the hot springs are sulfurous, and the clothes and whole body smell of sulfur, so I was worried about it. However, I was able to get rid of that worry without worrying too much. Rather, it felt like a world of difference compared to the hot spring inn "Sengoro" in Sengokuhara, Hakone. In 2004, I had a traumatic experience at "Sengoro" where the smell of sulfur did not go away for 6 days. Dinner was served in the room, and breakfast was served in the large hall. I was not impressed with the dinner on the first day, and thought that I had made a mistake in choosing this place. The dinner on the second day was not so bad. It was delicious. I was impressed by the four different kinds of mushrooms on the round tray, especially the Sawamotashi mushroom, which I forgot the name of, as it was second only to matsutake mushrooms in taste.
