The Brown, Guatape, Autograph Collection

Best place to stay as a couple, very romantic and beautiful!

Our stay at The Brown was good. The hotel has an outstanding view of the whole dam in all the different locations (rooms, restaurant, gym etc). The rooms are beautiful and modern, some of them have a whirlpool which adds to the experience. The food is good as well as the service, however, we believe the service is missing the "wow" factor, they do their job good but we felt they are not going the extra mile to make a stay memorable. We did not experience major issues but noticed some minor issues when it comes to details; for example, the soundproofing could improve, you can hear almost anything of what people are talking or doing; thankfully we did not have major issues with that. The housekeeping staff is very good and always leave the room organized according to the standards they have, nice to see, also the response time for requests was quick. Overall a good stay, we know is more of a new built hotel so we understand they need to improve on details. P.S: Not sure how out of hand this is for the hotel, but the road to get to the hotel really needs to be repaired, at the end it is also a part of the experience and seeing that road when you are about to get there kind of impacts negatively because it is something you do not expect, specially from a Marriott-owned brand.

Had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Brown! Here's what was wonderful about the Brown: The grounds were immaculately maintained and were just beautiful! The food and drinks in the restaurants were superb! The front desk and transportation staff were very helpful and the housekeeping staff were very thorough. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! The view from the rooms alone is worth the price of staying here! One thing to keep in mind if booking here is that it is remote and a ride into town or to the Piedra will require using a tuk tuk. They are an inexpensive way to get around, but the road from the main highway to the resort is very rough, so be prepared for a bumpy but fun ride!

An incredible space for a relaxing beautiful vacation. Came here for a wedding. Everything was done 1st class. Our server Mateo was an expert, friendly and on top of everything. I don’t speak Spanish but communication was not difficult if you know a few words!
