Atmosphere: The pub is characterized by a cozy, traditional, and lively atmosphere, with a warm, family-friendly environment. Live music events, a spacious beer garden, and a rustic decor contribute to a welcoming and engaging experience for guests.

We had not been to this pub for a year . Last visit the food was excellent. Tonight it was very poor, one of the worst we have had. The menu offered little choice ,with three types of burgers and four other options. We both chose the fish and chips as steak was £30! We waited 50 min for food to arrive, despite our booking being early (6.30) . There was one barman and one waitress for the whole restaurant The batter on the fish was soggy. The tartar sauce tasted mainly of mayonnaise. The chops were barely cooked, white, hard, inedible. I have never complained in a restaurant, but I did ask the waitress politely if we could have some cooked chips. When these arrived they were slightly crisper on the outside but still hard and mealy inside. I am sure they were frozen oven cook chips, certainly not freshly cooked. One of the worst meals I've had. No one asked if everything was alright at any stage. We don't intend to ever return.

The restaurant was cozy and welcoming, the girls serving were so lovely. We had a fish & chips and a cumberland sausage, it was truly the best food we’ve ever tried! Will be back when we’re back in the area!

Great value and a fab location. Incredibly friendly staff, lovely location, a great breakfast and a beer garden in a pretty village green location

This place is NOT Disabled friendly, fitting a wheelchair in is virtually impossible without hitting tables and chairs and the male toilets are upstairs so impossible for wheelchair users like me to use. The staff are lovely but the food is terrible I’m sorry to say I didn’t enjoy one bite and left feeling disappointed and hungry. Not a great experience would not go again.

12 months ago the food was delicious, with a warm and frienly atmosphere. Today what a disappointment. Food quality poor and served lukewarm, overcooked Yorkies and tasteless beef. Service poor and overpriced food. Will not be returning.

No frills, clean basic pub accommodation Have stayed here b4, about 6 years ago. Nothing seems to have changed in that time. None, if any, up grades, especially in the bathroom, which was one we had last time. That said, it was warm, clean and served my purpose. The towels were large, thick and in new condition. (Not always the case in every place)

Friendly service, good food, nice bedding and towels. Towels changed and bed made, bins emptied which was nice. HOWEVER Terrible bed, worst I have ever tried to sleep in. Rooms very dated like 1960s and very dark, lovely hair dryer but no socket any where near a mirror. Kettle etc on a dark cubby with no light. Rooms directly above the main bar with no sound proofing. Kitchen smell very strong on bedroom, fat bur ing made my eyes smart kitchen yards away with from bedroom, no door, and little extraction, cigarette smoke coming into bedroom from customers smoking outside pub front door. Booked table in restaurant for a meal, was instead seated in the bar as a single elderly lady not the best place to be seated on a Saturday night. All in all apart from food very disappointing stay.
