Wir wollten wie letztes Jahr zum Nachtessen: Wir haben ein Email geschrieben, bis jetzt keine Antwort. Ich habe ca 10 mal versucht, das Hotel anzurufen….. nach einem Tag hat jemand das Telefon abgenommen. Ich fragte nach einer Reservierung für das Nachtessen, als Antwort bekam ich, dass sie gut gebucht seien, aber grundsätzlich nur Hotelgäste nehmen. Eigenartige Antwort….

Ein Wow-Erlebnis auf unserer Reise. Die Wohnungen ("Zimmer" wäre untertrieben), die Umgebung mit Flora und Fauna, der Ausblick, der Service, die Aktivitäten mit ausgezeichneten Guides, das Essen - einfach sensationell. Grootbos Florilegium Half Day Tour - Celebrating the treasures of our botanical heritage was a wonderful experience. Heidi was very passionate about the beautiful flora and pollinators that make Grootbos a hidden treasure. The gallery collection was an impressive and the investment in education also commendable. The local taxi provided us with transport from Pure Sea Eco Lodge. Alternatively they also have accommodation available. We enjoyed a tasty lunch and tea tasting as part of our tour.

Wenn ich das Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in einem Wort beschreiben müsste, dann wäre es Perfektion. Dieses Luxushotel der Extraklasse ist eingebettet in eine atemberaubende Landschaft, die einem die Sprache verschlägt. Vom ersten Moment an fühlten wir uns wie im Paradies – umsorgt, willkommen und verwöhnt. Jeder Wunsch wurde uns von den Augen abgelesen, das gesamte Team war aufmerksam, herzlich und professionell. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir Suzelle, die uns Reitanfängern mit viel Geduld und Humor einen unvergesslichen Ausritt ermöglicht hat – wir lachen heute noch :-) Ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt – wir kommen garantiert wieder!

Beautiful countryside but for the cost of the tour , we would not repeat it. There was very little fynbos in flower in April. Might be an idea not to do tours if there is not much to see. A fair amount of time was spent at the florigium which we would have rather done on our own. The lunch was by far the highlight, beautifully set in an old house- using fynbos ingredients and absolutely delicious. We felt that this restaurant should form part of the painting display area- thus allowing one to spend much more time there.

Brilliant Relaxing place to stay. Everything was excellent - The team, the food , our lodge and the adventure trips A wow location. Every one made us feel very welcome. Probably one of the best breaks that we have had in over 50 years of travelling. They are doing a lot for the environment and the local community. We learned so much Highly recommended. We will be back

Grootbos was absolutely wonderful and the view of the coastline is better than the pictures! We stayed at the Forest Lodge for 3 nights and we did a beach picnic (highly recommended), cave exploration, flower/fynbos safari, and horseback riding. We even got lucky enough to enjoy a special boma dinner in the forest. Grootbos is an easy 2 hour drive from Cape Town and worth every penny! Our guide, Ruaan, and server, Candice, took excellent care of us. Many thanks to all of the staff for a memorable and enjoyable stay for our family.
