Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Appleton

This place looks nothing like the photo's and is kinda a dump not to mention stains on the bed and they're idea of a glass of water is tap water

Very nice, clean, friendly and economical hotel. The rooms were small (but to be expected with a name like Microtel 😊). However the rooms were very efficient, and included both a small fridge and a microwave oven. A coffee maker would have been nice, but there was plenty of coffee available in the lobby 24 hours a day. I think I was most impressed by how clean, organized and well lighted the breakfast area was, and how much there was to choose from for a free breakfast. Definitely recommend.

Don't be fooled by the photos and the overall customer rating. This is one of the worst hotels that I have ever been to. Everything is old and rundown, plastic counters with stains, mould around the ac unit, ceiling and wall repairs done unprofessionally, seat/bench cushions that are home-made using non-commercial grade materials, dirty carpet, hard rock mattress, pillows that feel like they are stuffed with pebbles (also the pillows are square shaped, which I have not ever seen before), and inedible breakfast. The walls are waffer-thin, you'll hear every thing next door and the whole room will rattle everytime a door is closed. Literally nothing deserves even an average grade. They should be reported to the health department and building code enforcement. If you don't care about all the above and just need a barebone bed to sleep, then do yourself a favor and find something cheaper because I don't think you can do much worse at a lower price point; at least you'll be saving a buck or two relative to this place. I have respiratory allergies, which I believe flared up after spending 1 night in this mold and dust infested place. I walked away from my 9- night reservation and moved to another hotel across the street. This hotel should not be allowed to operate with such low and unsanitary standards. Shame on the owners and managers!

Hotel overall was quiet and comfortable. Staff however made me feel very uncomfortable. Very rude and hard to understand.

This Microtel isn't as pictured or like other in the chain. It's a bit run down, no pool, hot tub wasn't in service during my visit (even though I wasn't going to use it), no coffee cups in lobby and if you need a handicapped room, but are traveling with a service animal; you don't get a handicapped accessible room. You have to stay in a room that's for "pets" regardless and provide a deposit. The deposit is refunded, but it's the accessibility disabled people need and their service animal.They're not pets. I've stayed at several of the Microtel hotels and have never had this issue before this place. On top of that, we had fleas in the room.
